No football teams were forced to have poppies on their kits during the war and the 50 years following the war. Why is a lack of a poppy something to be ashamed of today? I thought remembrance sunday was about gratitude, giving and remembrance not virtue signaling

The poppy on a football shirt just seems very false and more about being seen to be doing the right thing.

No doubt the footage from the lad on the pitch will be all over social media by now. If it's all about rememberence, why was he on the pitch videoing it?
