A poll that isn't about Ched. Rejoice.

It is still early and we have yet to really play our hand in terms of recruitment/planning for next season but - as it stands now with what we do have, where would you be happy with us finishing next season in the Championship.

Note: Not where you think we will finish, but what position would you be happy with as a minimum.

ive gone for top 8. maybe a bit optimistic but i just feel with the togetherness, spirit and momentum we have i honestly think we can do it. and maybe even sneak top 6

My reply is slightly nuanced. I've said I'd be happy with 8-12th, but I'd be content with 13th-19th.

Anything above 3rd bottom, look at Wigan they won it and came crashing back down.

Whilst there will be new teams that over achieve and others that hugely under achieve, As an "on paper" look at the clubs that will be in the championship next season I would be unhappy to finish lower than the likes of the below (obviously Barnsley have overachieved along with Preston this season but for every one that over achieves you have a massive under achiever like Forest who will be stronger next season who I haven't mentioned below)

Bolton
Bradford/Fleetwood (or whoever comes up through play offs)
Birmingham
Burton
Barnsley
Ipswich
Preston
QPR

So I would be disappointed to finish lower than 16th

I would be happy to be competing in the teams 16th to 10th so no nervy finish worrying about relegation and the change to experiment towards the end of the season to see what youth or fringe players we have.

I think those teams will be the likes of:-

Wolves
Cardiff
Derby
Leeds
Huddersfield
Brentford

Again some of these teams may over achieve and the likes of Sunderland Villa Swansea Boro could swap places with these teams as all the above have an average chance of making plays offs (if they havnt already this season). This is where I see us for the next couple of seasons.

Gone 8-12, Mid table and I'll be well chuffed..
Aslong as we don't come straight back, which I can't see happening then Im pretty sure we'll all be happy!!

I expect us to have a similar season to Barnsley.

Just inside the top half and a brief flirtation near the playoffs. I'd be happy with that.
However inside a little voice is saying

"Maybe Wilder is the Brian Clough of his general and is able to turn half decent players into top performers. Maybe Wilder is the new messiah and can perform miracles"

So back to back promotions wouldn't be a massive shock to me but of course I don't expect promotion.

Put it this way we are head and shoulders better than the other 2 teams coming up from league 1.
In my view we've been the most dominating team in league 1 for many years.

1st I'd be happy with. Well, actually I'd be over the freakin moon! Willing to accept.........survival. Expect.....top 12 as long as CW and AK stay.

Just try and listen to some other local radios for there coverage, it's no better, and probably worse.

You've not included 12th to 16th. Bad poll. Not fair.

I want 12th to 16th.

I thought about splitting it.out but in reality thought there wasn't much difference between 13th and 19th - lower mid table

Should be plenty of garbage next season to ensure we're nowhere near the bottom:

QPR
Bolton
Burton
L1 play off winner
Barnsley
Birmingham
Bristol City

17th is the lowest we'll finish.

It depends if ched is playing or not. If he isn't then I pick top 8.

This is the Third time we've been promoted from this division

The last time we got promoted we had Deane & Agana and they carried on where they'd left off and fired us to the top flight

I think this team in general is better, but the problem is we haven't got Deane & Agana

If we can find two prolific goal scorers or our existing players step up we could produce a few surprises

So about 30% apparently see top 8 as the minimum with 60% saying top half!

Make no mistake, we'll be falling out with each other again in no time if we're anywhere below 12th.

I've gone with 8-12 as I think that wilder will consolidate us for 1 season and then automatically promoted the following season but if he continues in current form! I can see it happening next season.

I expect us to finish top half with little outlay. I would expect top 8 with the right signings. However first season in a league above - I'd take 19th and be quite happy with 15th up 20th and below would be a failure imo.

I struggle to be on the same page as those saying top 2. It took us 6 years to achieve that in the league below. I simply don't believe anyone would not take 6th place if offered now, let alone not be happy with it.

I'd be happy with top half. I'd be delighted with top six, disappointed with bottom half and distraught with bottom three.

Oh, and delirious with top two!

I would honestly be happy with anything other than relegation next season. I don't think we'll be that bad, but I thought we'd be in League 1 next season, following Wilder's first consolidation season, so he's got one free where he can sort out a Championship squad and build for a challenge the year after or even the year after that.

The Blades are on a roll, they want to ride it, take full advantage. In summer 1989 Bassett had some money to spend after promotion from the 3rd tier, he spent it wisely on mainly defenders and 9 months later we were in the top tier. Wilder spends equally as wisely and you never know ... dem Blades!

id be happy with any survival spot

I'd expect between 10th and 18th

I'd even accept ( not happy) relagation under certain circumstances.

I really hope the people who are saying anywhere in the top 6 are saying so in hope rather than expectation. Last thing we need is people having a go at Wilder because we are bottom half. As much as Wednesday fans big the Championship up to be La Liga, it is clearly a better division than it was when we left it. Next season will be extremely difficult and there will be times where people need to be realistic after poor results .
