Assuming the deal goes ahead...

Let's phrase the question in a more simple, and (dare I say, better) way than the other poll.

As a general measure of the reaction. This forum seems to be quite negative about it, where as Twitter the opposite

There's already one of these on here???
Il vote again anyway.

Might sign up to twatter now too, seems the place to be.

I'll sit on the fence... I can't be quoted being wrong in 12 months time that way ;)

Football wise - good move
Off field - bad move

No doubt the dressing room will be split, but Wilder will manage that ...and given the type of manager he is, I'm sure he ran it by the squad

I bet the squad knew nothing about it until we did!

Wasn't meant to come out yet I don't think.

Why is it a bad move "off the field?"

If he has run it by the squad [I'm sure he will have as well] he will have got the answers he wanted to hear hence the signing so why the split?

If it would split the dressing room there is no way Wilder would go for it.

He's not fannying around.

Can we have more Ched polls please. It would be ridiculous if we had only one poll to ask the same question when you can have 8. FFS.

Do you have anything in a particular in mind?

I'm thinking something along the lines of how happy are you that he is signing. If only I could think of a scale based on numbers. Perhaps going from a low number to a higher number. I think that could work.

I'm happy if Wilder is happy.

I'd have thought given the focus has been on finishing the season strongly, and Wilder is on record as saying all conversations on players' futures/contracts will be done after the season finishes, there wouldn't have been. While not expecting the likes of Done to be here next season, it would be pretty bad to be asking players on their view of signing someone in their position when their own future isn't able to be sorted for another week at least...

The poll needs another option Barney .

Option 4 ..... am a bovvered !

What Wilder says in the media isn't necessarily exactly as it pans out behind the scenes. I'd expect him to be frank and honest with the players, best way to build a squad harmony is let them know where they stand and if you listen to the players being interviewed that's exactly what he does.

I voted "unhappy" solely because our threads have almost the same title but yours has more posts.
My thread is clearly superior so I've no idea what's going off.

Other than that I'm not bothered. :)

As far as I am concerned, the only relevant question is can Ched Evans regain the form he had shown before his break from football. If Chris Wilder and Alan Knill feel he can be a benefit to the squad next season then I will happily trust their judgement.

I have no time for the sanctimonious, pious hypocrites.

Welcome back to the Lane Ched.

I personally don't think it's worth all the controversy. To be honest I think it's the timing of this news that I'm more unhappy about than Evans signing. If I hear his name chanted on Sunday then I will be given people my stern look face. Sunday is about giving those players who have finally got us out of this league one final thank you not about Ched Evans.

On the football side of things it reminds me of a Warnock signing. He used to love bringing in players who had shown promise earlier in their career but who's best days seemed behind them. If the price is only £100,000 or so then it's definitely worth giving him a shot. If its the £500,000 quoted then I think we've paid over the odds. Obviously time will tell but my gut feeling tells me he isn't going to cut it at Championship level and I really hope he's coming in initially as nothing more than back up.

Couldn't agree more.
Wilder wants players that will run through brick walls for this football club. Considering the history there is no one in the game who will be more committed to the Blades than
Ched.

TBH I'm not sure Wilder does backups. He recruits and develops players that are ready to rock n roll at any time. The only reason they're not in the team is because either they're not fully fit or someone is playing too good to be left out.

Valid stance, truth is unless we are told the fans might never know.

I don't care. I do care about the timing, publicity etc. We've just had the best season in years, smashed this league. So instead of concentrating on celebrating on Sunday, we have a part of our history we should be consigning to the dustbin all stirred ( should that be STARed) up again. Publicity own goal. I gather it was 'leaked' but doesn't matter, timing is still poor.
