If Wilder Goes, Who's To Blame?

He'd be going because the situation has gone so south with our board that he feels he can't do his job properly. You're not going to leave your dream job for a few extra quid. He and his staff signed a new contract the other month, for goodness sake.

If he feels the truth is there with the new ownership and the levels of investment, as an ambitious manager, he's quite likely to take that over a club embroiled in civil war.

To imply he'd do anything to harm this football club over money is insulting to everything he's achieved here.

How do you know all this?

If he goes he will be harming our club
He won’t go down as a Blades legend like Harris and Bassett more like Porterfield

I don't know shit. I'm speculating based on tonight's whisperings. That's why I said "He'd be going", not 'He is going...'

As I've said previously, if he goes, it'll be because of how bad things are here, not because the grass is greener.

He's a Blade but he's also an ambitious professional. How is he meant to do a job with hands tied behind his back?

Accept your first paragraph, question your second.

How do we know this? The ownership issue been rumbling on a while. Suddenly brought to a head. I would rather believe that Wilder playing cards, but I haven't got blind faith. Sunderland FFS?

Controversial and I'll get all the usual "pig abuse" but I'm not bothered. He doesn't believe in either himself, the players or both. At the end of the day, nothing will have changed from preseason 2017. It stinks of wilder playing up the ownership debate to keep his 'legend state's while jumping ship because he suspects he'll not be able to repeat this seasons early form. I've found his demeanour a tad embarrassing TBH. Sulking like a big kid managing a kids team that has gobby mum's and dads sticking nose in. If he go's we'll have managers quing up. 2 years in management at a club is long enough. Shake it up.

Why would Wilder have the patience to wait a whole season to have a crack at getting in the top 6 with Sunderland, but not the weeks to get things sorted here? Doesn’t add up IMHO.

As a Blade, if I was in charge, adored by the fan base and well on the way to legendary status as “one of our own” then there’s no way I’d consider leaving under any circumstance. Just saying.

If I quit this forum who shall I blame ?

Find it hard to believe this amount of negativity, popped over to Pork talk to see if they were the same, but they seem quite content.

With a 10 million pound striker who cant score and huge increases in season tickets and finishing 10 points (?) below a pub team.

I think some need a sense of perspective.

I'm responsible. I just can't help screwing it up.

Meltdown is what we do best

Don’t believe for a minute that Wilder will go. I’ve too much faith in him to think like that. I also wouldn’t begrudge him for doing so however given the situation.

I started reading that article, but got distracted by students dipping semi naked in the North Sea at St Andrews, I'm not sure what that says about me, but I'm not leaving the Lane, not now, not ever.

As for Wilder, my only concern is that he has an agent, who's motivation and priorities won't be loyalty or what's best for Sheffield United, had he not got one, I wouldn't be even slightly concerned

That ITK accountant bloke called Darren claims he's actually been at a Chinese in Fulwood this evening.

Which probably means he's already bought a five-bed detached in South Shields.

If he doesn't know anything how does he know his hands are going to be tied? I just hope he stays.

Dazza must have a secret camera in the Canton Orchard. His hit rate is up there with Strappys.

"Things have changed since I was told we'd signed Denis Law"
