This is my exact point, though - people are spouting off as if it's easy, but clearly it isn't. As much as our fans won't like to hear it, we're still a relatively unfashionable team in a relatively unfashionable city. This, added to our wage structure (which I agree needs to be revised) and our current league position, adds difficulty to bring players in at the best of times; when it's the January transfer window the task just gets harder.Fair points in the main, however I think it’s a bit disingenuous to correlate the lack of ability for average football fans on a forum to identify a laundry list of candidates, with absolute evidence that there’s nobody out there. If identification of the ‘who’ was that easy, multi-million £ recruitment teams wouldn’t be needed.
Does this analogy also consider that the kid has massively increased the status of the family and its wealth and by not giving them the pocket money, this may be at risk.Ok here's an analogy for you to explain.
A parent gives their kid pocket money once a week. They waste a lot of it on sweets last week and return for more.
The parent then says 'You can have some more money but only if you spend it on vegetables/books etc.'
The kid says no, and then nothing happens and nothing gets bought.
The teams who have saved money in this window, have a long serving manager, an identity, and a tight group of players that know each other will end bouncing back IMO look at Norwich. All of the above criteria we meet and I’ve seen nothing to suggest otherwise as of yet.
Fulham have spent a bit bringing players in, have players on loan, will likely change manager, and then ultimately have to find a new identity (way of playing) when relegated, the same could be said of WBA. My only concern is a potential defensive rebuild, because players like Egan, O’Connell and Baldock are bound to have suitors. Let’s see how loyal they are.
We will be entering a division that is likely to contain only a handful of teams capable of actually buying players due to impact of coronavirus on football finances. We will be in that handful.
The West Brom fans complaining about their window accuse their club of short termism. They've spent £10 on loan signings this window. Well worth the investment if you stay up, terrible waste of money if you go down. It's a gamble and one I personally don't think a club in our position should have taken.
And it turns out Kean Bryan is amazing anyway
Who would have been better than what we have ?Does this analogy also consider that the kid has massively increased the status of the family and its wealth and by not giving them the pocket money, this may be at risk.
I'm not suggesting we should have gone mental by the way, but at least one of a CM or LCB should have been brought in on loan.
There's no reason why we couldn't have thought outside box and gone in for a player on loan, with a view to permanent in the summer. A chance for them to impress and it reduces our risk if it doesn't seem to fit.Who would have been better than what we have ?
To bring in players in case of injury would be good, but why would a player agree to do that ?

Cooper at Millwall, for example.
Actually in your example we would only need to get through the next few rounds to recoup the spend on a 30k player. The bigger worry is that we seem to be scraping round for money after having 2 years in the prem.A single player on £30k a week costs £1.5m a season. About he same as we’d get for actually winning the cup, I suspect.
Unsettled player. But no Championship club is going to let their best players out on loan at this time. Why would Millwall agree to let their best defender go on loan?
Unsettled player.
That requires the player's club being amenable to the deal, the player themselves wanting to come and no other clubs gazumping us with a better deal (eg higher wage, closer to home, not battling relegation with a record low number of points). Again, it sounds simpler than it is.There's no reason why we couldn't have thought outside box and gone in for a player on loan, with a view to permanent in the summer. Who in the top league will be after Egan ? Baldock would be a squad at best for a few lower table premier league clubs. The teams who have saved money in this window, have a long serving manager, an identity, and a tight group of players that know each other will end bouncing back IMO look at Norwich. NURSE!!!!!!
I showed tremendous positivity when I bought my car on finance. I’m still paying for it now and it’s turned into a bag of shit. I can’t afford a new one yet because I don’t have unlimited amounts of cash. It’s all relative. The positivity and ambition the Prince showed when he took over already feels a long time ago. We never even hear from him anymore. I recognise Wilder wasted millions but to not bring in a couple of loans when we are so short in central defence and midfield is piss poor tbh.
Are you sure we wouldn't. McCabe was still about after allEven if he is they'd cash him on him. Apparently JOC was unsettled at the start of our promotion season. No way would we have let him out on loan though. He's probably their prize asset
Crazy that West Brom managed to bring players in then really, isn't it.That requires the player's club being amenable to the deal, the player themselves wanting to come and no other clubs gazumping us with a better deal (eg higher wage, closer to home, not battling relegation with a record low number of points). egan will definetly have premier league suitors this summer can see the likes of newcastle leeds or everton being in for him plus the 3 promoted sides 20m starting price though imoWho in the top league will be after Egan ? Baldock would be a squad at best for a few lower table premier league clubs.
As for JOC, no club in the top league will touch him until he is back from injury and shows the same form as he did in the first half of last season. He may not be the same player performance wise
Agree with this. But we are so short of numbers in midfield it's ridiculous. We're also still in the cup, which earns money. I think it's a really poor move not to get at least one midfielder in
Yes we don't want 5 Robbie savagesTrue, but it's up to the Prince to decide whether to release funds for certain signings.
For example if you were owner and you had the money you would cough up for Messi.
However if the manager said he'd want to pay the same amount for Robbie Savage... I doubt you would release the funds for that signing.
Or any other PL side. When Liverpool show interest in Davies we can't compete with our wage restraints.
And just how would you have "got them out" if nobody wants to take them on, and give them a pay rise to make them want to go?No. Personally I'd have got a few more out ready for next season, including Lundstram and Moose. Maybe one midfielder to come in on a permanent or view to a permanent (Lundstram replacement).

Any midfielder just to get the numbers up?Agree with this.
Piss poor.
