How did he do tonight? Will we be ok with him the only quick player in the team?

What is Murphy's injury? Any news at all on Forte?

To return to the original thread subject.

I thought that Poleon was the only forward that posed a threat last night. Orient couldn'handle his pace when he ran at them. He was also desperately unlucky not to score, shaving a post with Orient all at sea.

As for Murphy, I believe that he will be out for Saturday's match due to a groin strain. Forte also has a groin strain but it is expected to take longer to recover, maybe another 3 weeks.

It's not about graft V laziness, or craft V battle for me, it's about the way we (don't) mix those up.

It's ponderous, one dimensional stuff - has a promotion challenge ever been so boring? Not for me.

Flynn just sums us up - no rush to penetrate - sideways / backwards football. If this was the eutopia we were supposed to be working towards, please stop - promotion or not.

UTB

There's never an excuse for a lack of graft. And too often at home we don't graft. I imagine that's a lot to do with the age of some of the players - they seem content to look after their own area of the pitch, but not press the opposition outside those areas. You either press as a team or drop-off. We do the latter far too much.

I also agree we lack urgency on the ball. Against Colchester Robson was all over the pitch for 45mins, demanding the ball. He made the difference. But it seems he's not up to that level of input playing twice a week.

Rather than bring the aged players off after an hour of slow toil, I'd sooner start with the kids, use their energy, then bring on the experience later on. Our shape was lost last night and we cannot expect the young lads to know how to address that. Poor old Callum McF clearly didn't know how to play the role of operating on the "wrong" wing. He looked much more useful on his natural side.

On the positive front - I was pleased to see McF has really strengthened up. I'd like to see him again but playing left sided.

Agree with you, Poleon showed encouraging signs and has a fantastic turn of speed. It's a shame about the other two though.
