I think it will be very similar to last season and 83 or 84 points will be enough, 83 would have got promotion last year, currently Luton can get 90, Boro could get 91 but as they play each other both can't happen,

And Luton play a lot of the top 6-8 teams in the run in and I dont see Boro not dropping 6 or 7 points either , can we find 5 more wins minimum with a couple of draws

On current form, we lose 4. Draw 4. Win 2.
It's dead Dave.

My feeling is we go up with 87. 'Boro will only drop points v Burnley and Luton (1 point from the 2 games) which puts them on 86

If they do this then they deserve it

No way do they win 7 of the last 9 & draw 1.

Last 4 games are W2, D1, L1

the form your talking about they should have spanked Stoke last night, yet we’re lucky to hang onto a point…. At home.

They have been playing without pressure for a couple of months, like a L1 team against Prem - go and enjoy as expectation is off

Now they can smell 2nd they are feeling it, 2/3rds full and quiet/edgy home crowd

Big game tonight, we can really turn the screw, or fuck it up …..

This is the 91pts squad of last season - the 2nd highest total in our 134yr history and the run to the semifinal . So hardly the losers the results are reflecting. Relying on the out of their depth coaches is more the issue. So rather than sack the squad, why not train the one touch control into the team that every other club shows week in week out.

I can see two issues with that take

We should be able to get more than 23 points. That's my goal.

Compared to covid 20/21 season;
.Our squad is better
.New signings in the JTW unlike then
.Crowd support
.We have more points at the same number of games.

That squad did not have one touch control/ passing last season. I doubt it can be trained into them. You either have it or you don’t.

We need at very least 1.25 points per game but more likely around 1.4 points per game.

Basically even if we draw a match, our points required for future matches gets even higher and our task at hand gets harder.

If Wilder has any real belief in staying up then he really needs to start having a go at games.

A draw is virtually the same as a loss at this point of the season.
