Just read an article on The Star website which states that had the season started at the point when Clough came into the club we would now be sat in 5th place in the league.

And loads would still not be satisfied. Just wait if we are not sat 1st or 2nd before christmas next.

This is a table from 15th October, the day before we played Crewe. At that point, Peterborough had only lost one game, and since then only Notts have lost more.

Great achievement he inherited a team that was destined for relegation, brought in a few players on loan & one permanent! That table also shows we would be 9 points clear of 7th place. He has hardly spent any money to achieve this! If we back Clough next season and with the teams going up and coming down I think we have a great chance of winning the league.

We have only lost 2 games in the last 17 ,so it just goes to show what an indifferent start he had but we still knew then that he was going to be a good un

Basically, had we had a decent manager at the start of the season, we would be certs for the play offs.

Clough's first choice XI is basically a team of players Weir had at his disposal apart from Harris, Brayford and Scougall. How on earth Weir took that team to rock bottom is beyond me. I genuinely think that I had I been manager and just told the players to go out and do their best, I would not have done as badly as Weir.

He is far and away the worst manager we have ever had. He made Micky Adams look like Alex Ferguson.

Bit unfair, Darren. As is all this comparison between Weir and Clough.

People are forgetting that Weir also saw us get dumped out of the Capital One Cup and JPT. Beat that, Cloughie! :D

Too right anall.
This is the Third Division not the Premier League.
1st place is all we should be looking at next season.

Tell you what. We'll win the JPT next year. Clough doesn't like losing

chuck the reserves out n we'll win it. If they're good enough to lick Posh and Rotherham, then we'll sail through the JPT.

Not very often I agree with Darren. Even less of the time one of his posts make me chuckle. This did both.

Weir inherited a top 6 team, had a whole pre season to build and kept hold of most of the bets players, yet turned them into relegation certs. An incredible feat. I didn't think we'd see a worse manager thaan ale house Micky for a while, but Weir beats him hands down. In brining in Marlon King he even managed to top Adams' desperation signing (Marcus Bent) by brining in Marlon King!?
