Cracking to see you lads leading the way and with a fair bit of style as well.

Really pleased that it's happening with two proper blades at the heart of things in Wilder and Sharp, nice to read some of the interviews talking about how united you all are again.

Looks like I got it wrong with CW, I wasn't sure he was the right man but he's done a brilliant job to turn things around.

Fingers crossed you're up as Champs by Easter and hopefully look forward to seeing the Blades at the Pirelli next year in the championship and one step closer to where you probably belong :-)

good luck for the rest of the campaign.

Cheers mate. Well done to your man for taking a point off the pork last night. Hopefully we'll be locking horns in the 2nd tier next season. Jackson Irvine/ John Brayford swap deal maybe?

ps. I like Brayford but it seems likely that his long term future will be with your lot.

Assuming you're a Burton fan...many thanks for the kind words and best wishes :)

Please can your lot kindly buy Brayford in summer allowing us to continue using his wages much, MUCH better as we have this season? :)

Thanks for the lovely message although I can't extend my appreciation to your manager who spent a lot (relatively) inherited a team with Murphy and Maguire and delivered slow awful football that was never going to get us promoted. His signings were indifferent at best! But he's doing a great job at Burton and hope you guys stay up.

Nah - thank Clough for keeping us in the division and taking us to cup semis. But not for the cock-up of a season which followed.

For once, the web beta was true - a great manager for consolidation, but not one for adventure.

first time managing in league 1 as well

What's the reason why a Burton fan would have bridgfordblade as a username?
...and, what;s more, taking what would have been my very predictable but none-the-less appropriately alliterative user name...instead I had to go for the wider 'South Notts'. Pah! I've seen/met a few Blades here in West Bridgford so assumed BridgfordBlade was one, never mind.

He's the poster who posted as "Closeasablade" on blades mad. He's basically a Nigel Clough supporter having grown up with the Clough family. The blades were his team when Clough was here and he's popped on from time to time to wish us well etc.

Burton VS Fleetwood next season in the Champ.......

Can't see Jackson moving to a club in the Championship 1DW, unless it's to one of the big guns who come down or one of the big guns who stay down. He might even give Burton another 6 months and consider a move in January, rumour has it he was offered a lucrative deal to move to China but he turned it down to stay and fight to keep Burton up. The lad has been a revelation, his goals have been a real bonus on top of his driving performances. For 300k he's got to be one of the signings of the championship this season. I think Burton will get close to 2m maybe more if they were to cash in. He's just signed an improved contract so no real need to rush. He'll play in the Premier League within 2 seasons if he stays in England.

You might have a squeak of a chance with MacFadzean, who although he's been brilliant, a real rough and tumble centre half, he's also been a real liability discipline wise getting banned twice for stupid off the ball clashes, really nasty ones as well. The type you don't want to see anyone making, least of all your skipper. He's been picked whenever fit and suspension free and he's been brilliant, even playing as the holding midfielder midweek. I just get the feeling if NC can find another solid centre half to go alongside Turner and Brayford he may be tempted to let kyle leave, I could be wildly wrong just a hunch. He's going to be a very good centre half when he grows up and stops having thuggish lapses. I hope he stays but it wouldn't shock me at all if he was the pawn in any Brayford swap deal.

By the way, a point against "the pork" in midweek but 4 from 6 over the two games. not bad for a funny little duck egg of a manager ;-)

Think you may be right about McFadz. He made his wishes clear last summer with us in League 1 so if we're a championship side we'lll be even more appealing to him assuming Wilder is still interested. We were linked with Irvine last summer according to rumours on here. Shame we didn't make it happen but our midfield, especially Fleck has been a revelation this season so can't really complain.

I'd hope we'll be looking at better, more reliable defenders than McFadzean if we go up.

As for Irvine, it's a shame we didn't sign him, he looked quality in that Youtube video and it doesn't surprise me to see how well he's done for Burton. Similar could be said about Morsy but we can't regret it too much because Coutts has been great this season, and if we signed either he would've probably left. Irvine and Fleck would have had everything though.

Eyup Closey bridgfordblade . Nice to see you again. Why didn't Nige take the Forest job?

Timing and circumstances I think.

It's not such a bad thing to walk out when you're 13 points clear at the top of the table. Quite something else to do it when you're a point outside of the bottom 3 as they were then. So mostly out of loyalty to Ben Robinson who gave him an incredible opportunity to take over a club at the top of the league but also down to the way the guy at Forest runs things. He'd have to give up a lot his input on the football side of things and despite promises to change and implement proper structures, I don't think he answered the question the way NC was hoping for.

He'll manage them soon enough. Probably even more likely if Forest continue to slide and go down. I think he'd quite fancy having a crack at rebuilding them top to bottom.
