McBurnie is not a player I miss and not one I think would thrive in this current team and set up. He was a bang average Championship striker at best who's overall return was poor. If he was so good at defending corners then maybe we should've moved him to centre back. But he wasn't a centre back, he was an unreliable goalscorer with a poor goalscoring record over his entire Blades career.

Perhaps you’re right re the Prince - but there were rumours that his health wasn't good due to the stress of financing / and expectations/ or running a major football club , if that was the case then surely that is another reason to reach an agreement to offload , as what came round is very likely to come again ?

We looked to be doing this with signings like Berge, Zivkovic and Retsos. Naturally, two of those didn’t work out at all; but it’s hard to say how much Covid derailed the opportunities those players might have got- but that is entirely hypothetical.

Since then, it’s only really Ahmedhodzic and Souza who have really cemented a place in our team. Our other forays into the foreign markets (whilst limited) have unearthed such gems as:

Guedioura
Uremovic
Olsen
Grbic
Traore
Slimane

Of course, we’ve signed plenty of domestic duds in that time too- but I hope the new ownership invests in establishing a more comprehensive scouting network abroad.

A few assumptions in this but:

We know (EFL checks) that the yanks can fund us in the championship so not getting promoted this year shouldn’t mean a fire sale and double drop.

But lets face the cold hard truth, the yanks don’t give a shit about us, they’re in it for the money, so why go in for us in the first place if they don’t have the funds for a least a survival year in the EPL to see if further investment is worth it.

On the Prince:

I have no issue at all with him, the club is in way better shape now that when he took over, but FFS take the money and go, you won’t get a better offer and if you stay it will turn toxic very quickly.
