Lots of ways we can look at that game. In one sense, and definitely in terms of their attackers, Forest were clearly a better side on the day. They carried more threat and quality in the final third. However, the game itself seemed to be played in four quarters.
Minutes 0-30 - I thought we started well, we were on the front foot, even after their first goal. But you could see they were setting themselves up for the counter-attack. From around 30-45 minutes, we were all over the place, and were very lucky not to be 0-4 down at HT.
46-70 minutes - came out on the front foot, Forest seemed to be happy to sit in. Lots of possession, we started to raise the tempo a bit in midfield with Berge in particular taking hold of the game. We put a tonne of crosses into the box but all went straight to Samba.
Then came Egan's mistake on the 70th, and after that period, just like the first half, from 70 to 90 mins we were fortunate not to get blown away. So in summary, lots of huff and puff in the first halves of each half for us, but in the second half of both halves, Forest turned the screw and could have put the tie to bed. A combination of Wes and poor finishing kept us in it.
The party started in the away end at 2-0 with "the reds are going up" - so perhaps some of the team talk has been written for Tuesday. I personally don't think we've got enough to turn this around, but for now we are still alive and we must have a bit of hope.
