I know that 'Rose Garden' & 'You Can Do Magic' are inextricably connected with the Woody & TC era in the early 70s.
The latter often referring specifically to TC.
But was there a genuine lyrical connection to the former ?
Or was it just a favourite of that great DJ we had ?

"I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden
Along with the sunshine there's gotta be a little rain sometime..

"So smile for a while and let's be jolly love shouldn't be so melancholy
Come along and share the good times while we can"

Must have seemed fairly appropriate in Oct 1970 when that song was a top 5 hit.

Apparently, "You can do magic" wasn't a hit until 1973, although as you say they are inextricably linked together in Blades folklore.

"We are the champions" by Queen
"The winner takes it all" by Abba
"The only way is up" by Yazz
"Up" by The Saturdays
"Up" by Shania Twain

I'd like to suggest NOT the Wendy song performed by Dario G. Fed up of hearing it at the Lane, where it has no place whatsoever.

Just stick "London 0 Hull 4" vinyl on't record player, that'll do.
