Ryan Sessegnon maybe one, just saying anyone see his celebration after his goal for u21s? Was that meaning blades? Maybe wrong
Maybe i'm getting "wooshed" but what he did was the 'Wakanda Forever Salute', probably to honor the late Chadwick Boseman.

Apparently Swift is on £35k a week at Reading anyway.

Can't see that at all tbh.

Reading's wage bill is on the high side hence why they had to do a "Pigs" style stadium sale but he wasn't a star signing so can't see them paying him that.

Besic was long gone by the restart, and effectively out of the picture when Berge arrived. August to Jan we had 2 DCM options (Norwood & Besic) and 2 RCM options (Lundstram and Besic). For the restart you had 2 DCM options (Norwood & Berge) and 2 RCM options (Berge & Lundstram). 3 players covering two positions for both. There was a moment in Feb/March where we had 4 players covering two positions. If one of the defenders coming in are a midfield option as Wilder says, I don’t think we’re any weaker than we were in midfield. In fact with the rise of Osborn and Berge I think we’re probably stronger, even with Freeman departing.

I'm sure I've heard Wilder say he'd like two for every position, I know we haven't quite achieved it, but we do need another in my view, but I take your points on players covering more than one position. It's just that realistically, Berge is likely to be an automatic choice this season, with the fee we've paid and his quality, he's not likely to be on the bench. Likewise, Fleck will be first choice, although I think Osborn is probably set to give him more competition this season. There just seems to be a lack of competition in midfield, particularly for Norwood. As I say, where's his competition, and don't say Berge because he's already playing in the RCM role, I can't see him yet coming to the middle. Lunny offers RCM cover but I feel we haven't enough competition or cover for Norwood. Lunny may still be leaving also.

Players on international duty....

Would Hudson-Odoi be too ambitious on loan? Chelsea have a wealth of shiny new attacking options. And wilder mentioned forward players not necessarily just strikers.

My guess would be ...

In
Oliver Burke - Swap
Rhian Brewster - Loan
Joe Rodon - Permanant
Clarke Odour - Permanant

Out
Callum Robinson - Swap
Michael Verrips - Loan

I like Callum Robinson so would like to have seen him stay, either way CWAK knows best!!

Careful, all the wannabe Accountants will be telling you it can't be true, as XXXXX FC don't pay that.

I'll stand back and watch it happen.

They know of course........😂😂😂😂

I would also have assumed Swift was on about 10k. My source on this wage is an actual friend. Slightly unreliable friend(!), but very fair to say he's "ITK" at Reading.

They do have Chinese owners, though I haven't made the effort to see if he signed before they came in. I just repeated what I was told as it seemed relevant - when told, I immediately assumed we would not be signing Swift as probably wouldn't offer him half of 35k.

That's like going to bed on Christmas eve all excited and opening an orange Christmas morning.

Are we EPL or EFL?

PS - Brewster may be OK.

Mate I'm with you all the way. I'm not doubting what you said. I repeated something that I was told this week, and the know it alls waded in almost immediately and told me it couldn't possibly be right.

I'm just warning you that's all. I think it could be right, the money some of the players are on is unbelievable. Just because we have a handle on it, doesn't mean other clubs have. I know of 20 year old reserve players at PL clubs on £10k a week, who haven't made the first team. So £35k is entirely possible. The Snorters were allegedly paying £40k a week to several players a few seasons ago.

It wasn’t a serious suggestion. Just trying to balance those on here who would unrealistically interpret CW’s comment as being top international players.
Sorry

No need to apologise but you were so specific it made me wonder.

Also a good friend of mine, and a blade, lives in the Faroes.

My father served there in WWII so I'm hoping to make a sentimental journey there next year.

No offence mate, but I have heard this kind of dismissal before, not necessarily from you I might add.

From recent memory, the arrival of Egan, McG and Mousset were met with a lukewarm response by many supporters. There will have been many before that too I am sure and whilst not every transfer will work out, Wilder normally gets it right overall.

But we are in with the mesters now, gambles and cheap bargains will eventually catch you out.

Maybe, but I think we have an A+ management team, which puts us in rare company even at this level. That compensates for a lot, even if our budget is more "see me after class".

Honestly, I would back Wilder & co to finish above half of the managers in this league, on a 10th of their budgets.

Not suggesting it will happen but would not be shocked if Moose was going on loan to France or even sold
