Players we should be looking to bring in this summer.

If it involves a fee nobody will be coming
If it involves competing with other Championship clubs wages, nobody will be coming

Get used to it, League One beckons.

And fifty years from now there will be some sorry excuse for a fan starting a new thread on here called "League One, our level?"
You are already the sorry excuse of a fan. According to you we were doomed this season the moment Heckingbottom was appointed. Wrong again eh?

Heckingbottom is still here

Next season, MGW, Berge, Uremovic, Brewster, and Bogle won't be

Sharp, Basham, Foderingham, Ndiaye, Jebbison, and McGoldrick, might not be

And even sadder than that, the rest will be

Dave Bassett once said sign league 1players that's we're you eventually end up playing 👍.
Chris Wilder once said, just because a player is playing in league 1/2, doesn't mean he is a league 1/2 player.

He did after the Leicester away match in the Prem he called them all league 1players👍

Anyone thinking we could get the likes of Swift and Joao are living in a dream world, even league one clubs slap a price of a few million on good young players with potential. Can anyone realistically see us spending millions to bring in league one players in? Not going to happen as stated when Hecky was appointed we will be looking for free transfers or players released from Cat one academies whilst trying to move on our high earners. Mid table in the Championship might be a struggle next season.

Brewster and Bogle won’t be here? Source?
Hecky has already said he wants to keep Billy and Bash.
Most of your negativity doesn’t even come with any evidence. You just like to moan for the sake of it. According to you we will be non league in 5 years! Yep, your words 🤣🤣

How DARE you!

Oliver Norwood 'makes us tick'. He puts some 'lovely balls' across the park and ... and ... he's um ... scored a goal and made loads ... um ...

pommpey
Maybe you need to expand your football brain and look at the touch technique and movement of those who receive those balls eh ?
Agree about the injuries effecting us this season. However the bigger longer term picture is pretty bleak if you ask me.

As it stands we have

Mcgoldrick
Sharp
Basham
Osborn
Freeman
Adam Davies

All out of contract plus

Uremovic, Davies, MGW, Hourihane and Goode whose short term deals expire

That’s 11 first teamers on their way out as it stands with no attempt to tie them back down.

The loans were added on PL wages too next year the philosophy has changed to promote from within and thus replace any outgoings with the kids we have at the club. Feel like a broken record here but this isn’t us guessing this was what was said in that proper odd presser when heck took over.
its a well thought out plan tho’ in it😁

Who’s doing well in League One that’s young and affordable? Would rather us shop here (and more realistically we will) than drop lots of money on people like Joao and Swift.
Obvious call, but may be too expensive, Brannigan at Oxford, good midfielder who weighs in with a few goals. I like the look of Pritchard at Sunderland but if they go up he wont be going anywhere

Maybe not. Maybe you need to provide proof of how many of these balls across the pitch lead to chances and goals, huh?

Furthermore, if the repeated pinging of balls across the pitch ends in players not being able to control or capitalise on it, then that might be one to avoid, perhaps? Yet still he does it. Again and again.

If Fodders just humped every clearance down the centre of the pitch for it to just be mopped up by their centre backs, do you think it would be a good or a bad idea to keep doing it?

Even though Transfer Window is only just open, i sense a spate of "Blades missed out on" , insert your own named player.

If Utd manage to get up, I'd certainly look at taking Gyorkeres (assuming he won't go in Jan) He looks too good for the Champ and I think would fit well into the style of play.

Just need to keep him off pens!
no brainer regarding gyorkeres he will be a premier league player next season but unless we get new owners we havent a prayer of getting him hes a fantastic centre forward and got everything in his game including an intelligent brain

Gyrokeres played a game vs celtic in the champions league and he let them score a goal. Probably let you win aswell if he ever played you ;)

FYI as Gyorkeres stepped up to take the pen I heard someone shout 'he wont score he's signing for us in January' hope he is right

Would also be looking at their number 38 Hamer, thought he was one of the best on the pitch and his delivery for their goal was top class!

Well, it will depend on a number of things. Firstly and most importantly, whether Utd get up. Then, the approach Utd will take wrt recruitment - I'd be amazed if any owner allows another £100m splurge and instead I would expect a few key buys supplemented by several top level loans (e.g. Henderson, Doyle, McAtee). As Gyorkeres will only have 12 months left on his contract, it would be interesting to see how much Coventry would hold out for (considering they may also be under new ownership). Finally, assuming Utd are indeed interested, who else would be in for him and whether any would blow Utd out of the water in terms of wages. For example, I could imagine Fulham going for him should Villa move for Mitrovic.

Remember when Ricky continually wanted Mathieu Manset 😂😂 18 clubs across 8 countries and retired by age 30.
