Thought this was worthy of its own thread. Do my fellow blades believe that the club should communicate its general incoming transfer strategy to supporters (obviously not specific targets), including the general profile of players the club are looking to recruit?

Should the club communicate its general sales strategy - in light of the perceived disconnect between their own "game-changing" statement?

Are blades fans satisfied with the negotiators in charge of incomings and outgoings, given the continued failure to land several managers top targets in a timely manner?

Would we, as fans, benefit from more insight into our transfer and scouting processes?

I WANT HIM

Cheers Nige so you like big uns
No. The results will speak for themselves. Successful clubs don't give away all the details of what they're doing so there's no reason why we should.

There are lots of different ways to run a club, lots of different approaches. At this point in time I believe most supporters couldn't give a shit how we go up, they just want to see us go up.

Less talk, more action please.

I would have to partially disagree. I believe certain clubs supporters (Peterborough, Crewe) are aware that their club policy is geared around signing and developing young players to sell for huge profits. The profits pay the clubs running costs. Fans of Swansea, MK Dons, Barca etc all know that from grass roots upwards there is a clearly defined footballing ethos that all signings and capable academy players must fit into. The fans don't know specific targets yet knowledgeable ones could hazard a guess who they might be, given the communicated ethos. I'd agree with you that successful clubs don't have to give out secrets: good results are the panacea for everything in football. It doesn't preclude getting the fanbase to buy into some guiding principles though.

It's an excepted thing in football (some clubs do to unsettle the player there after) that clubs don't divulge the names of players they're chasing it's disrespectful and not acceptable by majority of clubs (we are in that category ). Adkins adheres to that philosophy and keeps it
Within house in my opinion that's the right way to go about things. The media is always speculating (a wiff here and there! ) and of course us as fans take it as being right, but is it?. The 3 names mentioned ( aluko, burn &moncur) do seem logical targets and would improve our chances of success this season. If these are the the 3 do we really want him to lower his sites ?, a definate no!!, there are other fish in the sea but if Adkins thinks he can get them 3 on board that's fine. ,OK loans arnt ideal but we do get the chance to see if they fit into Adkins plans.
If we acheave our goal (promotion) ime pretty sure we could get them onboard (permanent ).
Come on put the negativity to bed and help the blades beat Wigan!!

Good post, like your positivity. Wasn't asking for specific names though!

Random response:

Personally I'd be interested to know.
Would this information be revealing trade secrets and thereby pug the club at a disadvantage? Don't know, but it feels like it might.
(Also if this is an attempt to placate the Screaming Toddlers it's not going to work: the more you give then, the more they want.)

There's a tendency to dismiss Twitter but Burn and Hammond were prominent from pre-season I think. Aluko and Moncur seem to have a similar status.

It might be that with the best will in the world it's hard to keep any negotiations under wraps so targets are revealed regardless.

Doesn't mean we should go around confirming them though.
