Blackman 6/10 Could've done better on the goal but let's be right, even experienced goalkeepers don't have to deal with that level of incompetence in front of them
Freeman 3/10. Been poor in both games so far
Basham 2/10. Attitude was fine but Christ he looked embarrassingly out of his depth yesterday. Weak, poor reading of the game and and made countless mistakes on the ball.
He was an absolute joke on the goal.
Big difference from last week, he's not playing a team of midgets who are great in possession but mediocre at best in and around the box. This week he was up against three strong and powerful forwards who know what they're doing.
Stearman. 5.5/10. Wasn't poor but he was brought in to give our back line calmness and experience. Didn't seem that way yesterday.
J'OC. 7/10. Did fine, one of our biggest assets although first half he didn't drive forward like he usually does, this was in the period when we were rattled by the goal and the confidence seem to drain from the team.
Stevens. 4.5/10. Didn't try and take his man on once and made some unforced errors, was disappointing yesterday. To be fair to him he's come up against Jota and then Cyrus Christie in his first two games.
Fleck. 5/10. Not his best although I wouldn't say he was poor either. The game revolved around the fact that all boro had to do was pump the ball up between our goalkeeper and centre backs and we were in a world of trouble against their 3 excellent forwards. Nightmare to play in midfield against.
Coutts 7/10. Did well on the ball and would've been an 8 if it wasn't for the times when he was ambling back rather than sprinting. Showed his lack of stamina at times
Carruthers. 5/10. Thought he wasn't as bad as a lot of people made out. He had little to work with and looked like he could cause boro problems in the first half but things just didn't quite come off for him.
The less said about whatever that ball/shot was before he went off the better.
Sharp. 4/10. Back to the Blackwell days which also wasn't his fault. He's small and slow, therefore doesn't suit the role of living off scraps for a team that just doesn't have any serious control on the game.
Would've liked to see him finish the game in a three around the box with Clarke and Ched.
Clarke 6.5/10. Did fine, especially considering what he had to work with.
Subs:
Duffy: Looked alright when he first came on but made some unforced errors as well. Great ball for the 'goal' and wasn't far off with his long range volley.
Brookes: Won a free kick and showed his quality in flashes as well as his inexperience. Big talent obviously.
Evans: Did alright, shame we still haven't seen him partner Billy
