Play Off's !

IMO we will not make the play offs.

I’m chuffed to bits that PH has turned the season around.

Our performances are not great but our individual quality is getting us results.

We have a soft under belly and no stomach for a fight which is needed for a sustained play off run.

It’s turned in to a far better season than we all imagined before Christmas.

Enjoy the ride.

Fuck me all I’m seeing at the moment is Forest this, Forest that. Most teams at the Lane this season have been poor. Forest weren’t, big wow. They’ve beat a dreadful Reading side today, big wow. They once won the European Cup, big wow.

They’re 9th in the league and we’re 5th. Fuck Forest and if we meet in the play-offs then bring ‘em on.

It’s the performance more than the result - that could have anything getting close to 10 today yet our manager says there was nothing in it in the first half when if we had been losing 3-1 would have been a fair reflection

similar to Derby -Preston second half against 10 men also Cardiff against 10 men Huddersfield out muscled and being found tactically one dimensional

Today though - down to the barebones - he could have changed it at half time to 4-4-1-1 why didn’t he ?
He would then have been able to bring Ndiaye on move Osborne to the left and had a diamond midfield with more balance to nullify and tighten us up

Took nearly 80 minutes to bring on a sub and then he brings on a striker with the pace and mobility of a reliant robin

It may not have won us the game - we will never know - but it would have plugged some of the gapping holes

I think we will make play offs but do we stand a chance against the likes of forest if they make it? probably not

I don’t think so mate.

As blades we know what it’s like to have the ‘bit between your teeth’

I can honestly say I don’t get that impression with this team.

I also don’t think Billy does.

Hmmm not so sure about that mate. I think the home games we do appear to have the ‘bit between our teeth’, but I agree that our last 2 away performances have been pathetic.

They won it twice actually. But you are right. So fucking what. They are 9th, although they were better than us once this season (but didn’t win) who fucking cares about them.
They might not even make the play offs.

Ok you are clearly on the wind up so I will bite…

I get that we were shit today (I didn’t go so I’m relying on the result and match reports)
We weren’t great against Blackburn or Forest but we battled and didn’t lose. We were superb from 1-11 against Boro and Billy was extremely good.

We are miles away from the team at the start of the season and have somehow rescued our car crash of a season to be in the top 6 with 10 to play.

Hopefully we can get at least 4 points in the next two games and then we have an international break to regroup and get some players back.
 
In all seriousness, I know we've taken points but aside from Boro we've flattered to deceive against our playoff rivals.

Could easily argue we were forunate against Blackburn and Forest and down right poor today.

Playoffs obviously a lottery when they arrive, but sadly a bridge too far imho with all our season ending injuries.
 
Forget the play offs, why impose all the inevitable hurt and self harm, just accept mid table mediocrity. At least we're not going down.

Luton? We fucking hammered them and they got away scot free at 2-0.

As bad as us tho ? Tbh if we do make playoffs I’m happy with playing Huddersfield/blackburn/boro. It’s only forest that would really bother me. For me they are 3rd best side in league right now by a mile
 
If we make them despite our record we've got just as mucha chance as anyone. On our day we can beat any side in the league.

If we are not on it enough then we won't win in the playoffs.

That forest match was not a fair reflection of us in my opinion. And I hope today is similar.
Vs. Forest we were poor till Osborn came on. All of a sudden that back 5 looked a bit sturdier and we were able to build. We also started to stop giving the ball away under no pressure.

Against Boro with Ben Davies and Osborn in we were again pretty solid and the likes of mgw and berge were really on song. Fleck was putting in a shift too till he was injured.

Yesterday Gordon comes in for yet another change at the back. Hourihane and Norwood aren't able to control the game in midfield (We needed Fleck really) and mgw has probably his worst performance for us after having his best the match before.

Coventry were also on song, and their front two cause teams problems. They came up against another new line up at the back and I feel there was some jaded legs to throw in too.

We will be much stronger when the likes of Basham, Baldock, B.Davies and Fleck are available again. And C.Goode too!
We obviously don't want to see any more new injuries that keep people out for periods of time. Missing the odd game is expected.
 



If we go up this season, I’ll show my arse on town hall steps.

Hecky wont be the man that next takes us up. As someone above said, our individual quality has dug us out of the shit many a time this season. When we lose that, we are well and truly fucked with him in charge.
