I live in the West Midlands but has anyone emailed your local Sheffield MP?
I emailed the Sports Minister and my local MP - but I live Harrogate so what good that will do I don't know. A few years ago I wrote to the previous local MP re a football issue (can't remember what it was) but I received a well considered personal email in return - unlike the time when I wrote to moan about Boris Johnson's lock down antics - when I received a generic response which must have been sent out to thousands of people

How is this not major national news? It's a disgrace. They're gonna have 70,000 northerners stuck in London with no way home at this rate
Unfortunately, you answered your own question when you mentioned 'Northerners'.

Its not worthy of National news unless it effects people south of Watford Gap.

In order to organise broadcast times, security etc the EFL , sky , Wembley stadium and the Met police must all know the kick off time by now.
The last to know will be the fans , obviously the least important element to them all.
It's a pisstake of the highest order .

I wonder if they're still looking for someone to hand over the trophy - bit of any empty gesture anyway

Seemingly the delay over the kick off time is because of the police who want the game played as early as possible.

Article on BBC now:
Blades Ramble getting the shout out.

I find this choice of words odd

Sheffield United and Sunderland supporters said they remained in the dark about when exactly the match at Wembley would kick off, making it impossible for them to make concrete travel and accommodation arrangements.

This makes it sound like a matter of precision that we are lacking (i.e. its somewhere between 2:30 and 3:15 but we don`t know precisely) rather than even having a vague idea.

At this stage it could feasibly kick off anywhere from 12 noon to 17:30.

Sunderland fans reputation getting ahead of them? ;)
Yeah....TBH I see no reason to expect any trouble between the two sets of fans. There is no history of trouble between the clubs but I'd guess for some reason the police want to limit drinking time.

Sheffield United fans have been allocated the Box Park - seemingly the lad who runs it is a Sheffield United fan.

Fair few skirmishes with them in the mid / late 90's, but nothing in recent years that im aware of.

They might want to have an early kick off due to the tradition it seems of NE clubs taking over covent garden / traflagar square en masse..might help them clear that earlier on friday night
