Yes, I'd have thought a Cross Country train to New St then switch to a London train would be easier.

Not suggesting anyone shouldn't buy a ticket, but it's been a long time since I saw an inspector on a British train. i think they've cut back since barriers were installed at most large stations (but not Sheffield)
I’m a regular on the Sheffield to St Pancras service and there is always a ticket inspection on the train without fail.

Email to the EFL & both sports minister and shadow minister

Good evening
I am compelled to email regarding the farcical situation you have allowed to develop about the kick off time for the play off final.
How is it acceptable that fans of Sunderland and Sheffield United are currently buying tickets for a match when they do not know what time the game is and whether or not their travel plans are at all realistic?
Since the last game of the regular season there was only a finite number of possible match ups for the final. How is it that you were not able to have contingency plans already agreed and in place for each of these eventualities?
You consistently talk about how important the fans are to the EFL and even so, yet again, there has been no apparent consideration given to their needs. This is really unacceptable and completely avoidable.
Can you please explain how you have allowed this situation to occur and who will be held responsible for these clear failings in planning?

Ms Peacock and Mr Andrew - I have copied you both in to highlight a situation you may or not be aware of. Many thanks for any assistance you are able to give to ensure this situation never occurs again and these failures are addressed.

Women's Champions league final is 5pm same day. Presumably Amazon wouldn't want a clash because their viewing figures would be zilch (instead of about 475). Surely this isn't being taken into consideration? They wouldn't give us an 8pm kick off Surely?

Likewise I have sent an email to EFL:

Hello,

I am a Sheffield United fan having just bought a ticket for the play off final. I still don't know when the kick off will be. The Sheffield United forum I visit is full of comments regarding this nonsensical situation.

This a copy of my recent post:

Just printed out my Play Off Final confirmation but it's ridiculous that I still don't know whether the rail ticket I bought is a waste of money ( I know it was gamble) and don't know for certain how I'm going to get there - I have to be home on Saturday evening or early hours Sunday.

What other form of expensive entertainment would sell tickets with no indication of the performance time? The EFL should be ashamed of themselves

There must be thousands of Sunderland and Sheffield United supporters who are similarly very frustrated with the situation you have managed to create.

You could have set a KO time months ago.

Yours exasperatedly

So what time is kick off or does require another thread in order not to read through 12 pages of moaning fickers about trains ffs

Why, that's the question, they must know, so why are they withholding the time, I can only think it's not going to be a popular decision.
Let them sell the tickets first.

70,000 people all heading south using the same roads and trains then using the same stations and tubes bars et
yes they will have a plan it will be one of a number of plans drafted

But it can’t be a late kick off as getting maybe 10/15000 props onto a could have trains only happens I. India

The logistics involved just give them a bit of space

Bloody moaning about everything

And before any says owt - nothing like coordinating the Sheffield derby

Which will require a hop across Birmingham to Moor St, and a train into Marylebone, then another train into Wembley.
Quite possible that the trains to Marylebone will stop at Wembley Stadium station. I've gone from Banbury for the two semi finals and that's been direct despite the normal timetable saying change at High Wycombe. Possibly not quite as convenient from Sheffield as from the North West.
Whatever the kick off time, I'd have to leave about 3pm to get all the way home on public transport. Why don't more people use public transport?

But wait, I thought it was all Sky’s fault, not the EFL?

It's possible, but that isn't what the timetable is saying at the moment.

I've never seen such a myriad of kick off times for one match.
Fri 1900
Sat 1500, 1600, 1700, 1730, 1745

Probably missed a few.

As things stand. I'm waiting till 12:59 PM on Friday for the kick off time to determine whether I'm getting tickets or not! Ridiculous situation.

Hoping for 1500 kick-off.
