Play off final kick off time - 3PM

I can't believe that they didn't have a couple of kick times depending on the winner of the second play off game. I find it unbelievable that they couldn't announce a kick off time last night - let alone this morning. I suspect it must be down to Sky digging their heels in.

I hope of it is a 3pm kick off, we don't tell Sunderland. That way, if they rock up at 5.30pm we will already have won it and be back in the pubs celebrating.

If ever there was an example of how much footballs governing bodies and TV broadcasting cos think about the fans, this is it. It is ridiculous that kick off times haven't been confirmed by now.

If tickets go on sale at Noon today, surely they've got to announce the kick off time before then?

Oh my sweet summer child - you think the fans are paramount in their thinking here?

From Sunderland forum:

"Just rang the EFL - discussions are ongoing, they don't know when it will be confirmed. Travel logistics and train times for fans travelling from the North are part of the conversation and are being looked at, apparently."

They know which clubs are playing. They know the train times. Surely they have enough info to make a decision now.

Of course they do - clearly someone somewhere isn`t happy with the outcome - given the lack of train availability I'm guessing that 5:30 isn`t a desired time for the clubs (and perhaps not the EFL) but the TV are probably twisting their arm.

If it was about the fans:

  1. We'd know the time already
  2. It wouldn`t be later than 3pm

I wasn't coming at it from that angle, more the angle that surely the KO time will have to be on the etickets?

I suspect if Coventry had won last night we'd have 5:30 confirmed already - as it is the TV are throwing their toys out of the pram.

Forget what i said in posts 179 and 180.... given that its teams from the north travelling down, discussions are now being held with the various groups.. announcement hopefully tomorrow

Give the EFL a break, Sheff Utd and Sunderland haven't both remained in the top 4 since about last September!
Well in fairness to the EFL we were in the top two for a lot of that time, and Burnley (further north) and Leeds (also further north) were in third so how could they possibly have done anything differently...

Aye
Although they could have ‘factored in’ the likelihood that at least 1 team in the final would be from ‘further North’ than Sheffield, especially if you consider Blackburn & Boro we’re also ‘in the mix’

Well well well, it sounds like having everything in London/at Wembley isn't practical.

430 I'm hearing. Source? Someone on twitter quoting sky sports. Edit: coverage starting at.

On the side of 3pm: SUFC, SAFC, 70,000 travelling fans, train companies, probably the Met Police

On the side of 5.30pm: Sky TV.
