The problem there is the parachute payments..which need never exist. Enforce relegation clauses lowering wages for every Premier league player if the club is relegated, and then we'd have a more equitable Championship as well as a more competitive Premier League ( the players definitely wouldn't want to go down in that scenario). FFP would then empower the clubs who have the best self generating revenue streams, and have an owner willing to invest to whatever limit the authorities set (currently 39million every three years in the Championship).

If you stopped parachute payments then the money allocated for this (which is considerable) would simply be divvied up between the premiership clubs. Yes, the championship would be more competitive but the premiership clubs would then become even richer and the gap between the rest would widen, it would make things worse, not better. Parachute payments are part and parcel of the premiership - no one has the authority to tell them they can't do it anymore and they would be told to mind their own business.

That's always been the problem: two governing bodies with vastly different interests.

If you included the FA as well as Prem and EFL, we have 3.

Considering the issues the Championship clubs had when the recent SKY deal was signed off - there might be 4 soon !

The clubs sabre rattled and said there would be consequences.

The consequences could be the Championship isolating themselves. The Prem would then close shop as they wouldn't countenance promotion/relegation to and from L1 The whole league structure would suffer and we could end up with football's version of Brexit. The only solution in my book is for the big 5 (or 6 or 7 depending on how you look at it) to fuck off and for normality to return to the league structure.

He has a point, if you have the money and don't put the club in debt why shouldn't you be able to spend it. All FFP does is make it easier for relegated teams from the Premiership to go back up.

And that's Chansiri's argument. He once said he'd spend £200 million to get into the PL. He thinks that it's unfair that he's not allowed to spend his own money - and incur his own personal losses - when the parachute clubs are not similarly shackled.

What's happening at the Lane at the moment is a fairy story. It's highly unusual. But were Wilder to leave then United would be in exactly the same position as Wednesday and other Championship teams. Namely, where you are in the league is related to investment.

Apart from in the pigs case that's not true as they have a wage bill to rival all but the top 3 or 4 spenders in the league (WBA, Villa, Stoke and maybe Derby) and they are 16th in the table.

And what happens when he gets bored and doesn't want to keep funding it and can't sell?

I'm not saying the money will run out but it's fair to say the chances of them going up this year is more anorexic than slim, but he's still funding those players that are costing £30, 40 50k a week, every week Fletcher, Fairy, Hooper to name 3, even though some haven't played in weeks/months, how long can this go on for. A few are coming to the end of their contracts so there's no transfer money coming in, these players will need replacing at even more cost. If Chansiri decides to cut his losses or refuses to pump more money in they will be up to their piggy necks in it. It's only a month since Chancer was fearing for his own safety, telling them things were worse than bad. Apart from sacking Jos, paying him off and spunking £2m over 2 years (I'll be amazed if he's there 2 years btw) on Bruce what's actually changed??

Yes, but they've not had jostling Jos Luhukay as manager. ;)

Maybe he’s found a way of circumventing FFP? If I owned a club and I had a business contact who also owned a club, I might say to that person ‘if you buy one of my players to get me out of the shit, I’ll award your company a big contract’.

but the rules are there to stop owners with no affinity with the club building up unsustainable debts thst jeopardises the club's future ,I've not heard one single Wednesday fan express concerns about this even though he's talking about selling your ground and selling the club

Fair play to the lad a dedicated thread and 100 replies on a Blades forum, bet he's loving it

He also said, not too long ago, that he'd already spent £150m trying to get promotion so he's only got £50m left.

Tuna boy supposedly going to buy the ground off the club to help get round FFP rules !!

Tried convincing himself Tunaboy is a billionaire. The whole family isn't worth a billion according to Forbes. The company maybe worth that but he doesn't have any access to the company funds. Between them the family they have capital of £700 million the majority held by the father. Still he's been the programmes major clown and liar so long so he's always worth listening to.

Don't have threads dedicated to this imbecile,he already thinks he's a local celebrity with the air time he gets .He's probably wanking into his sister's bra reading this ....

The whole buying the ground bullshit has proved to be just that ,bruceys not even coming in till the windows shut so what would be the point?

I’m quite happy with Bruce, he’s going to take that team and all it’s playing ability away, break the dressing doom up completely and get rid of all the deadwood posing as superstars..he’ll spend a fortune take them to the limit of what they can spend and assemble a load of cloggers to go up the Bruce way... then struggle exactly like Cardiff are now..

Gonna be a reight laugh.. and they’ll pay £60 a ticket to watch hoof... before it all goes tits up...

Met a Villa colleague who I haven’t seen for a while yesterday, he was pissing himsen’

Yes, Villa fans not only wanted him out, but they're putting the dog in before he even takes charge. Lol. My Villa mates are doing likewise.

Armed robber missed the game Saturday (first time since 2007 I think he said) as he took his son out. Good man for that one.

“I thought it was a good crowd considering the weather” - the relevance of that is...? There were 35k at Leeds at dinner time on sky in the same conditions.

He doesn’t think they’ll make the play-offs, so he’s not as stupid as he sounds.

I must have missed the pissing rain and Hurricane Gareth at the Brentford night match when we got as many as The Massive did v. Blackburn at 3.00 last Saturday.

The Pitsmoor Pig is just an attention-seeking twat who let's his indignant rage boil over all day before spouting his pearls of wisdon on the increasingly-unlistenable 'Football Heaven'. 'Aaah don't want too knock Yoo-nited, but..'
