I can tell when a season of football is over, just reading some replies to posts shows that fans are feeling a little tetchy, do we suffer period pains from now to pre season does our ability to function normally dissappear end of season, I for one cannot wait for pre season, and my wife knows not to talk to me until then

No problem for me. Attention switches from football to cricket, Blades to Yorkshire. Only difference is that Yorkshire tend to win things. :)

Ahh, it's not like the super Tykes went years in the doldrums as well though is it?

At one stage I thought I was cursed. Football season ended sometime in November and Cricket barely getting past May.

I've moved my season ticket seats. Can't wait to see the view and meet the new numpties around me.

Aye, but all things considered, even with a few lean years, the record still makes The Blades look pitiful:

Also add to that statistic that Yorkshire were runners-up 14 times, more than any other County.

Great figures there SEB.

It's the 33 years between winning the Championship (i.e from me being 9 and starting to go to as many games as possible, to being in my forties) that clouds my view somewhat.
Anyway, that's behind us so roll on the rest of the summer.

Who the hell do you think you are suggesting that I've got nothing else in my life other than football..........:p;)

What do they say,"the grass is always greener" well it definitely will be on the pitch

She will go to the local club cos all her mates are there and they can talk about who's missing all day  but always turns me down for a county or test match :D

God's own county :D

Football can go fuck itself till August, it's not been enjoyable so the break is welcome.

First time in over 50 years watching the blades , i haven't got the end of season withdrawal symptoms . Hope the expectations do start to ramp up , at some point , before the start of next season . I think a lot of us have become battle weary , and been hit with the shrapnel , of a overall disappointing , bizarre happening season.

In saying that , if the bug is not there , why the fuck are we looking at the posts on here.

Of course the bug is there LBoE, your final sentence proves it. But how can we not be tired and disappointed after that season and the farce of the last match. I've had enough and am planning on spending my Saturdays doing the jobs Mrs HB has lined up. Maybe a few walks. Trips to the theatre.

And watch HB Jnr in a few football tournaments.

Keep up on the Forum.

Start planning which friendlies I shall go to..

Oh bollox, back to Blades already.

Though I've only had 25 years of this bobbar.

Our lass loves this time of year I am no longer always in a bad mood Saturday night and all Sunday

I have to say that for the first time I can remember, I was glad this season was over, though that was partly due to the trainwreck of a season that the team I play for had as well as United's predictable playoff demise.

And now? To paraphrase something said about baseball, I'm looking out of the window and waiting for August.

Don't know if it's age or the fact I've had the socks bored of me for the past 9 months but for the first time in my 58 yrs of support I feel like I need the closed season TO FECKIN CALM DARN
