Peck

The credit this lad is due for our ability to maintain our position in the league, since he has come in, with all the injuries and disruption around him, cannot be underestimated. Before Xmas he was all drive and energy but still pretty loose on the ball. His standards in possession have shot up a whole new level since new year.

He looks like he's had a new lease of life with a bit of a rest. We need to manage his time though. Doesn't need to start every game.

Agree….he’s recently had a deserved rest and he’s definitely come back stronger.
Peck and the other subs changed the game in our favour against Portsmouth
And last night he stood out as being easily upper Championship standard
And to think he’s only young playing his 1st season of league football.

Arblaster is obviously a talent but Peck could reach Premier league standard too.
Really pleased for him and love his enthusiasm, passion and focus….remindsme of George Baldock how he plays like a fan and fights for the win.

Tonight was his best performance for us and he looked the best player on the park. For me has gone ahead of Arblaster in the pecking order. No offence to Ollie who has been unlucky with his injury but Peck has seized he chance and then some.

He is the EFLs breakout star this season
Pecking order...see what you did there

Can’t disagree with the views expressed but black mark for using “complimenting” when it should have been “complementing”.

See me.

This lad has a great future ahead of him and I can only hope that this will be in a Blades shirt for as long as possible .

Not only does he have most of attributes which a good midfielder needs , he also has possesses the grit , determination and attitude which sets certain players apart from their counterparts in terms of their effectiveness and overall contribution to the outcome of the game .

All the signs are that he will only improve with experience and become a very special player .

I think he is incredible and beginning to love him. To come in unfazed as he has done is testament to his character. I often highlight the concern of players under 21 rarely coming through because of their physique, game time against physical opposition etc. Sydie has absolutely blown that out of the water.

I was surprised we never loaned him out in August but it's clear that I was wrong on this occasion.

There are clearly areas of his game that he will be working on, but he is not out of his depth in any aspects.

His celebration after BBD's goal the other day and our bench's reaction to him, he gets it!!

His attitude, work rate, determination, physical aggression optimises everything a Wilder SUFC side is about. He will succeed, unlike some other youngsters who sadly come through but can't cut it. I firmly believe he will be a player we talk about for many years, even if he only has a short space of time here.

100% agree with this

I was very worried that, when the likes of arblaster and then tom davies had to go out of the team to injury, we'd have to play him too much and burn him out.

You'd hope the new signings bring their own quality but the biggest benefit to us in the 2nd half of the season will be the ability to rotate and rest players. The bench looks much much stronger post-january than it did pre-january. UTB

I have been positive about him from his introduction to the starting team. I like that he is confident, he doesn't hide after making a mistake. He puts in a tackle and is not intimidated by anyone. He has a good first touch and is good at shielding the ball and turning out of trouble. His passing needs a little bit of work and using his left foot as he favours using his right foot 80% of the time.

What was noticeable against Middlesborough was the balance and understanding with Souza compared to Souza and Hazma. The inclusion of Hamer Rak Saki and O'Hare behind Cannon also helped as we had players dropping in to pockets of space showing for the ball. This also allowed Peck and Souza to play a little higher and be more involved in attack.

By a country mile. Arblaster was steady whereas this guy is changing the direction and outcome of games..,
I am no fan of pitting them against each other - but Arblaster managed 2 goals and an assist in just 12 games before injury. Peck has played 28 and Wednesday night was his first assist.

Not sure why we can't just enjoy them both for their very different qualities.

Not many mentioned it but Souza was absolutely outstanding (v Boro) as well.

Back to his physically dominating best and this created a great platform for Peck to drive forward and create etc

Peck was very good.
Said same on Deadbats report, hardly got a mention in the thread, yet I thought he was MOTM.

The thing is it looks very much like he's the rare type of midfielder who can receive the ball when there's someone on his back, turn and beat him and then drive forward picking out a killer pass leaving said oppo player/s in his wake - much like 'Blaster can do. His anticipation is also brilliant and getting better.
A very rare talent that cannot be coached ( nor can the ridiculous computerised stats appreciate).
Hopefully he will be here until he retires!
We could have a ridiculously good midfield - Souza, Hamer, Blaster, Peck, Davies.....

Yes that midfield sounds good. Over the years we have often struggled with getting quality midfielders.

Peck is going to be one hell of a player. Love the lad. He looks like the type of kid who at school would just quietly hang around while the bully is harassing the fuck out of some of the other kids. The bully would then turn to Peck and Peck (with his perfectly combed hair, little side parting and young boy looks) would put him on his arse embarrassing the fuck out of him.

I was so pissed off at the end of the game when the kop was singing his name and Sydie was lapping it up - then the fuckin daft Stadium Announcer drowned everything out with Annie's Song , just as Sydie was building up to a crescendo.

Someone likened him to Michael Brown which is a good likeness! Sydie has it all and I'm sure he will score goals as well.
He came into the side against Wrexham (cup) and from then on hes just getting better and better his attitude workrate and skills make him a standout player! A natural leader and future captain.

Brownys finishing was at another level.
For one season only but always had a goal in his locker.
Just looked back at comments after sydies full debut after the Wrexham game and everyone raving about Sydie and what he brought to the team as a 19year old on his full debut.
Hes come along way since then his energy attitude and skill make him a standout player.
We have to go up or he will be pinched by one of the prem clubs always on the lookout for cheap talent from the Championship, when I say cheap ! he will be worth far more than we would get for him in the future a natural winner and leader.

I said on here pre-season that he should be staying here instead of going out on loan.
He's a great player that is still maturing. Going to be fantastic

Peck has the ability to become a midfield general, not afraid of mixing it.
