I thought he was outstanding when he came on today. He gave us some extra bite in midfield that we were lacking first half. He put some big tackles in, put Bannan on his arse a couple of times, did some horrible, niggly shithousing, but just as importantly, used the ball very well when he had it. I know Arblaster gets all the plaudits because he’s a Blades fan, but I honestly think Peck has an even brighter future ahead.

I used to think Peck maybe had a brighter future, but I no longer do. Blasters far superior IMO.

That being said I thought Sydie did himself proud today 👏

I am so massively in the wrong here clearly! I thought he was poor, particularly defensively m! There was a few moments when I screamed ‘fucks sake Peck!’.

However sometimes you have to admit you’re in the minority

The best game I've seen him have.
Tidy passes, some beautiful runs, stronger than he has been, Blaster type turns, and hard as f'king nails in the tackle.
Seems a fantastic character as well.

Yes, he did lose the ball a couple of times and can be a bit wasteful. But so can Vini and Blaster.

He’ll improve over the next season or two but there are definitely good signs for the future.

I know it was an enforced change (I hope Blaster's okay), but I think the game suited Peck more than it suited Blaster, as he gave us that added bite in midfield.
They were clearly targetting Arblaster as challenges and tackles were going in harder on him than other players. They didn't try the same on Peck.

I enjoyed watching Vini getting stuck in and standing up for his team mates. He also played peacekeeper on a few occassion and he looked and played like a captain.

He’s looked good at some points and average at others this season. He’s probably an average League One midfielderat this point, but we shouldn’t be looking for academy players to be like Arblaster or Ndiaye or (David) Brooks, if we get 1 decent squad member every year it’s a huge success.

I don't think you can compare Blaster and Peck. They're different sorts of midfielders. Maybe in time they'll complement each other.

But anyway, I thought Peck was great when he came on. Gave us some added bite
What would you say the main differences are? I think they are similar, I just wondered what you saw

I don't think Arblaster or Peck are anywhere near the completed article, as you'd expect from lads their age/with their experience.

Peck is quite slow at spotting danger. He doesn't spot runs until it's too late. Needs a lot of coaching in that area. I think the game often passes Arblaster by as well. Neither are good enough defensively and are often bailed out by Vini. We'd be screwed without him.

May be an unpopular opinion but I thought Blaster was below his normal standard today. Maybe the occasion got to him, young lad, lifelong Blade, captain in his first ever derby. Thought he looked like he wanted to win the game single handedly. Peck seemed calmer when he came on, and played very well.

I think he probably starts for half this league, average league one midfielder is rather harsh given how much better than Wrexham he looked.

I think sometimes when a player like Arblaster comes through it warps your view of what you should expect from a youngster. At least it does for me. Peck's more raw and obviously in need of experience, doesn't protect the ball as well as Arblaster does (not many players at this level do) but the fact he can come on in a position that carries a lot of responsibility and make an impact on the game should be enough to speak volumes about it.

I'm not sure we need to suddenly decide he's Rodri after today but good lad, can't be easy coming on as sub in a game like that and he got stuck in and did himself proud (including a goal saving challenge).

I'm happy with letting him have his moment and enjoy his evening celebrating a huge win rather than having to map out his whole career based on it!

The future’s nothing but very bright with youngsters like them who play in matches like the derby, with any luck Brooks and One will earn their places before the season’s end.

He wasn't slow at blocking the Wednesday player when he got in t block a certain goal.
