If Weir does lose his job soon.

How much do you think it will cost us to get rid of him & his backroom staff?

I would hazard a guess - and it is only a guess - that there will be clauses in the contract regarding league position etc. For example, if United are in the bottom 4, we might have to pay him x to sack him instead of 'y' if we were say, 17th. The same might be true for the backroom staff.

Give over. A more likely clause would be he gets a 2 year extension if we win a game.

As if we would ever put a sensible clause in a contract.

More to the point how much will it cost us if we DON'T pay him off

I'm pretty sure that the outgoing manager continues to be paid in full until a time when either his contract comes to an end or he takes a new job.
It makes sense in theory as out of work managers don't like to be on the shelf for too long.

Apparently last season over at the dark side of the city , they had 3 managers past and present on the pay roll due to sacking unemployable people ...... Ok I can see the flaw in this plan immediately.
