Did they really? None of the games were close games if you watched them, the narrative was that we lost close games but they were some of the most 1 sided 1 goal wins you'll ever likely see. Opposition didn't score more because they didn't need to break sweat, we went 1 goal down and the game was lost, and this was down to the players having no fight UNDER WILDER.

On this evidence Slav is just living on his 2 promotions and they were over 6 and 3 years ago. I've seen it said that he knows this division. Don't think that can be true as he's not been around.

It’s been literally impossible for him to have got anyone else promoted in the last 3 years.

The only reason Hecky had a first game as manager, was CW walking out, can't blame him for tgat inept performance at Leicester

If you're equating Slav to Adkins based on 2 games and none of his own signings maybe football isn't the game for you! Adkins had a nearly prime Billy Sharp in league 1 and still fucked it up ffs

Midfield? Interesting idea. Norwood clearly or best midfielder yesterday with berge under strict instructions not to attract any offers. Were there any other midfielders on the pitch?

No worries.

My point, was at that stage in Wilder’s tenure, some were saying we should have kept Adkins as we actually won some. That obviously changed very soon after.

I think it’ll take arguably more time for Slav to work magic here. We’ve just come off the back of statistically, our worst season ever.

The team did show some signs of life towards the end of the season and the board have shown no sign of supporting Slav.
The team seem aimless at the moment and playing Sharp,Brewster and Norwood is all a bit brainless

Yes these things do take time but I thought managers want new players around as early as possible to work with them,rather than after the season starts .Hence my use of the word slow.
Dont want to mention the bunch across the City but they managed to sign 13 players before the season started. I kow its not the same ,but where there is a will there is a way.

The board stumped up a lot in the PL and I can 100% see why they aren’t willing to throw good money after bad. As long as Slav took the job with full knowledge that for example if he wants to buy £10m worth of players he needed to raise £20m in sales, or if he sells no one then we use the loan market, I’m fine with that.

The manager came late in the summer for contractual reasons and has had little time to change the way we play. I’d take a consolidation season if it means we can move forward next season. Financially that might not be possible and the pressure on Slav to immediately perform will be high if that’s the case.

Your not wrong but how come Fulham and WBA who were also relegated, managed to get players in?
If we want to go back to the promised land we are competing with these clubs. Sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. If it leads to promotion then apart from the extra income,the value of the players on the books will also rise.
