I reckon this might be us playing hardball with Port Vale. Adams wants to come, and perhaps Vale are being ridiculous with their compensation demands. Adams would presumably never forgive Vale if they're pricing him out of a move, so perhaps having seen today's headlines he'll be having serious words with the Vale chairman.
