Just got a text (not an official source) that we're in for Paul Gallagher of Blackburn. Anyone heard anything?

He's been one of the long term rumours for a long time now... seemingly linked whenever we might be looking to buy anyone.

Having said that, we do seem to end up signing a few that fit that bill :)

He's not a bad player. Don't you think he's a bit too similar to Ched?? I appreciate we need cover but is he the formidable goalscorer we're looking for!??

Wasn't he at Plymouth last year? Seemed to do alright there, I think he's done ok at Blackburn when he's been given a chance. He'd be a good signing imo if theres anything in the rumour.

Maybe a bit more to this as Blackburn have apparently signed a striker today, and taken Di Santo from Chelsea on a season long loan.

Will be released by Leicester City on June 30th.

Proven this season that he's a class above League 1 level which might make this suggestion a little more than hopeful. I know it's not the area we are immediately lacking in but I think this would be a top signing if we could pull it off.

Preston and other Championship clubs will no doubt offer him something but stranger deals have happened...

Should have signed him years ago when he was on loan with us.

Can't see how he and Murphy would fit into the same side though unless Murphy swapped wings.

When he played on loan for us there were a couple of lads sat next to me who were clearly students hailing from Leicester. They kept saying they'd only turned up to watch Gallagher.

I bet that was a disappoiting afternoon for them then, if my recollection of his performances during his loan period is accurate. :(

when he was on loan to us he was going through a tough time as he and his wife had recently lost a child
you could tel he was not fully focused.watching him now playing for preston he is a different player
probably due to him having recovered from his family bereavement

Fair comment if so, I was very pleased with the signing but have little recollection of him doing anything good compared to glimpses I'd seen of him before (mainly on tv which can be deceptive)
