CONFIRMED Brayford?

As so many people have said so many times, I'd love this to happen. However, I just can't see The Cloughmeister splashing the amount of cash required to make this happen this year. Here's hoping though...

Scott Malone ( left back ) has signed for cardiff....Brayford on his way maybe?... Link

Could be goods news but he is a left back . Pity this Scott Malone does not kick with his right foot . Brayford plays at other end of back four.

UTB

RS - Cardiff aware of interest and are looking to offload some players, but nothing close yet.

If you were employed. Would you take a 75% pay cut to go elsewhere?

Well, he's obviously keen on us. I wouldn't rule it out.

His signing would give the entire team and the crowd a huge lift, far more than the re-signing of Coady or McGuire. Probably our only chance we have of re-capturing the form of last season. He'd be cup-tied too so we could save him for the league games.

We win those so wouldn't need him.

If I was on my current salary and happy, no.

If I was on £10k a week and unhappy, yes I quite possibly would. £2,500 a week is not out of our range and it still puts him on £130k a year - a very good wage.

Let me put it another way. If you lived in Cardiff and had work on the Friday night til gone 10pm and presumably work on the Monday, would you trek all the way to London to visit your old employer on the Sunday?

Unless either Cardiff are desperate to sell (and are willing to ease the deal financially with JB) and/or he is willing to take a significant drop in salary (& agree to play in L1 again), I just can't see how this could happen this season (as much as I and everybody else would like it to).

His attendance on Sunday was positive and he would no doubt have enjoyed it, but not too much should be read into it. HM regularly attends Utd games but he certainly wouldn't consider a return (yet).

That all said, can you imagine the scenes if he does come back?

Too many Ifs, in that reply, Sheff.

A mate of mine spoke to him on Sunday in Hammersmith, said he'd walk to Bramall Lane to sign if we were in the Championship.

Sadly we are not, Cardiff don't want to let him go, and we cannot afford to buy him. And that is that I'm afraid

Fair enough. We might be in 4 months though and he'd only have 2 years left on his deal.

IF only :)

P.s. it shows how costly Weir was.

If we'd gone up last year, we could have signed Coady and Brayford and be settling in well.

I like that theory.

What about if he gets a taxi and we are still in lg 1 ?

Just seen on Twitter that CCFC are about to sign a right back, Adam Matthews, from Celtic. Could it be?

from BM:

"And quite possibly movement in my pants! Adam Matthews is rejoining Cardiff from Celtic. It's all over Twitter and other media. Cardiff fans are very happy as he was one of the best youth products they'd produced along with Ramsey.

Although only rumours as of right now, it's widely expected that Brayford will now be able to move on. We've been in negotiations for over a week now with them so a deal might now have been struck!"

Whilst I don't wish that SUFC blow everything on The Beard, what a huge boost it would be to us going into a tough month. For starters, 99% of the fanbase would be ecstatic, you could probably guarantee a 20,000 gate for the next home league game and it would hopefully continue to build up a bit more of a feelgood factor that had been lost with the inconsistent form and the Ched stuff. Brayford plus two more good League 1 signings - a striker and a central defender for me - and we should kick on to at least hit the Play Offs in form. Whilst I am no fan of the Play Offs, I always feel we stutter into them. We never hit them in top form - whenever that happens, we just miss out (Kendall first season, Blackwell first season, last season with Clough) and you always get the feeling that those were our years if we could have got there and sneaked in.

If we sign the beard then I would start to think the board are serious about getting promotion.

Is this the same fella who cost us the cup semi-final last season by needlessly giving away a corner just after half time ;)

Good player that he is, are we all getting a bit carried away thinking this would mean a massive difference in our tactics and ability to score goals ?

He is a much more complete right back than Flynn or Alcock.

He'd drive on the team as well as the fans, make him captain if we pull it off.

Ou ah John Brayford

We need heroes.

Lets hope we have a team of heroes at the end of the season. With regards Brayford , even Mr Clough seems to want to renew the love affair with him , as much as us fans.

Let it be true. Please please please.
Bring back the beard

When Clough mentioned him in his post match interview, he said something like, I believe he was at last week's game, in the away end causing trouble. :)
