As sure as I’ve ever been about anything that the PC we all saw in that stellar 18 month period pre injury would have been a star performer for the Blades in the PL.

I wish him the best of luck. If he does recapture anything like that sort of form, Fleetwood has better enjoy while they can.

Jesus, they must have offered him a lot of money to drop to League 1..

Joey Barton isn’t fit to lace Couttsys boots

“So, PC, this is how I want you to play, I had quite a distinguished career myself as a midfielder..........”

🙄

“Just tell the defenders to give me the ball.... I’ll do the rest”

As a footballer he’s miles ahead of Coutts. As a person, he’s miles behind.

I think Coutts is sadly done in all likelihood, a mid-table L1 team taking a punt on him is probably an indicator.

One way to look at it. The other way is that he's had a second major injury and little game time since. That doesn't mean he's not up to Championship football it just means he'd be a big gamble. And from his perspective he needs to go somewhere where he's guaranteed game time or he really will be finished.

Age is no longer on his side but Fleetwood have ended up with him for essentially the same reasons we did, and that turned out alright.

We all know what he can do but I fear those days are behind him. Either way, he really needs to be starting games so a good move. He'll get that in league 1.

I hope he has a few good seasons left.

Genuine GLTTL from me. Really hope he can get back to the form he showed for us in that 18 month spell under Wilder.

On a related note, does anyone know if we're subsidising his wages? I assume he was one of our biggest earners.

Gone to play for the biggest cunt in football.

It's bittersweet, sad to see a player that was central to this success leave, but exciting that we're moving to the next chapter. Hope he finds his form and confidence again.

I think that Championship clubs, and a few of the bigger League one sides must be convinced his fitness is done otherwise no disrespect to Fleetwood I think there would have been bigger clubs taking him on.

Sadly from what I saw last season he may well be done, but I hope he proves me wrong.

I think the only way his fitness might be ok if he plays regular football. I doubt he'd be allowed the time to get match fit in the Championship

Has Megson taken over at Fleetwood?
Spencer Prior on the radio the other night ‘I used to play for Gary Megson. Stood ranting and shouting at players on the touch line. Waste of time, just white noise to me’ in a very derisory manner.

Or could have been Matt Prior. It was late and I was driving.

Surprised he dropped to League 1. I thought a Championship team may pick him.

Fleetwood's a bit grim especially in't winter ,all the best to him he might just need it.

Darren Huckerby said he didn't want to play for him for that reason.

At the time just before that fateful day at Burton I think it's fair to say he was our most influential player of that period.
It's impossible to change history but without that leg break we may have had success 12 months earlier than we did, he was on fire and so were we. We lost our talisman and a good deal of our drive that day. Coutts will always be a shining star among the fermament of players we've enjoyed supporting. He wore the shirt with pride and it was always soaked in sweat.
We couldn't have asked for more. Good luck to the lad is worth writing out fully for him
