People have given justifiable reasons for letting Coutts go, but I can't say I'd care in the slightest if we gave him another contract and he didn't play.

In our incredible few seasons, he is one of the very best to have worn the shirt. Incredible talent, one of my favourite ever blades.

To be fair to Freeman he's been involved in 20 league games this season, that's slightly involved
Freeman is one of my favourites so his involvement will always be highly appreciated by myself. I was more making the point that his involvement has been less than the previous two years. And, at times during this season, hasn’t seemed himself.

I'd love to keep Freeman but as a defender I don't think he's good enough for the top of the Championship, never mind Premier League. Would he be able to play midfield?

Yep definitely thought he would go Championship or at the very least to one of the relegated to league 1 teams.

He's too good for League One.

Unfortunately, not based on what we saw last season when he played – hopefully he can get back to his previous level, but sadly I think the fact he’s ended up at Fleetwood is an indication it’s looking unlikely (similar to Evans in that respect).

We had a magnificent 18 month spell from him where he was central to our style and success. GLTTL.

He needed a full pre-season and regular games, that's all.

Oh way oh, he never gives the ball awaaaayyyyyyy!

Yes he is, but only at full steam. He lost his edge and his confidence after his injury [as he did the time before] and needs regular playing time to get back to his best.

If he does, then they will have the best midfielder in that division.

He played In league 1 under Clough and Adkins and was very average at that level.

I think Coutts is a steadying influence who majors on passing accuracy keeping possession but he needs good players around him to see his best.

Will be interesting to see how he copes, surprised someone like Barnsley or Rotherham didn’t come in for him, as he’s settled in Sheffield.
No doubt Ched will have sold Fleetwood to him.

That’s what I’ve heard every season on Evans too, and he’s now settling into League 1 as his level. Again, I’d absolutely love Coutts to return to his former abilities – I just think it’s unlikely, and I would imagine that if he felt confident that he could train with a Championship club this summer and get a contract offer at the end of it that he wouldn’t be heading to what is a mid-table League 1 club.

Evans is proven League One. I think he's only ever fleetingly looked Championship, although he certainly looked like he had the potential to be!

I don't think we saw enough of him last season to say whether he'd recovered or not. The big problem for him was that with both the pressure of the promotion chase and how unbelievably good our first choice midfield were there was never a chance to give him real game time.

Could take him a while to get up to speed for Fleetwood, and in spite of how good he was for us they'll need to use him properly, but if they're looking to pass the ball around a bit I doubt they could have signed any better. Potential to be the League One signing of the season.

Good luck. What a player he was pre injury and what a effect he had on our team. Played a massive part in getting us out of league one and will always be remembered for that and for the role he played for us. I also remember where we was in the championship before his injury and what could have been that season also. That injury played a big part in us falling apart at the final hurdle that season, I hope he regains some form as I think the lad deserves it. He has had bad luck with a couple of big injuries and deserves a break. Good luck coutts.

I think Coutts is sadly done in all likelihood, a mid-table L1 team taking a punt on him is probably an indicator.
