With Warnock, Robson, Blackwell, Adams, Wilson (first season), Weir and Clough it was obvious how we were setting up, how we were going to play, what we were trying to achieve (in terms of both tactics and style).

I am v grateful for the three (excellent) points today, but, other than playing 3 defensive midfielders to block them out, i didn't have a clue what we were trying to do. Couldn't see consistent shape, strategy, intent, nowt.

Do we currently have anything that might be called a "pattern of play" ?

We set up clearly today to play for a draw and bizarrely we got a one one draw but were awarded three points for it.

Today was very Cloughesque in the way we had a point just inside our own half that they were allowed to play to, before being closed down and outnumbered.

We have the ability to adapt. Today minus our creative players Jam, Jose, and to a lesser extent Che we beat "high flying" Coventry 1-0.

We have versatility. And we need it.

This won't be popular but a big credit to Adkins today.

He absolutely knew if we continued with our ponderous approach against Coventry, they would have murdered us with their pace and passing. Of course, it could have gone badly wrong if they'd taken a chance but they didn't.

Kick the shit out them and hope we get one chance and put it away - worked today and we desperately needed 3 points. It needed the ones who can run to put a shift in - Matt Done and John Brayford well done. And on top of that defend like desperados.

It's not how I want them to play but I think he now knows a good proportion of them aren't good enough for what we want.

It's given us a lifeline to adjust in January and maybe nick 6th spot.

Job done today. I wish they'd show that sort of spirit against Shrewsbury, Bury, Colchester.

Now go to Scunthorpe and do a job on them, we've waited long enough for a result there.
