Could see lampard speaking to their board agsin and showing them what Bamford has done in short space of time here & offering him a decent contract since their in best position to gamble with promoted money.

Just hope he repays the loyalty and gamble our club & wilder shown in him & signs with us. Lke Jairo, A 1 year contract with an option to extend a further year would suit all parties.

I don't claim to be an expert on body language, but there was a moment today when the TV camera's zoomed in on him, Cannon and I think Ings, sat in the dugout shortly after we had scored our 3rd. The crowd was rocking at this point and the look on Bamford's face was like a kid in a sweet shop. I think it will take something special to lure him away, but we'll see.
Money

To be fair you don’t have to be mega rich to go through private schools. A friend of mine put both his kids through private education, he was born and raised in inner city Leeds (Seacroft) and lived at the time in Batley. He is a pub/club singer with a 3 piece band and also does stand up comedy. When his kids were in private school he was doing that along with a full time job and a weekend day job, he then did gigs Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun evenings and his wife worked 2 jobs too. The commitment was huge and nearly killed them both (literally) but after doing that for near on 20 years, he dropped down to just a couple of gigs and a part time job and his Mrs doing one job but one kid is a Dr after graduating from Durham and the other is in cyber security both in high paid professions. I am not saying that is what the Bamfords did but with a hell of a lot of commitment and extra work it is possible.
Neither do you have to go to private school to succeed! My 3 kids have had to move round with my job on 4 occasions, attending local schools. One has a PHD and has just returned from 5 years working at Harvard and Yale in the States doing research, the second worked for 2 separate pro Brexit MEP’s, then at the FCA, before taking a year out, and the third is a midwife. Work ethic, a brain and a couple of parents who encourage/challenge their children to be the best they can go a long way.

True, but it does help..

I would say it can help, no doubt about it…
Much less so nowadays as both Universities and Companies hit diversity targets. Infact although properly bright kids may be pushed more in a private school good results from a state school are viewed much more positively than from a private school where they are 'expected'.

Ipswich sniffing now.
Will need relocation from Bamford if he is going there although they are rumoured to be after another striker, out of the realistic Championship options, if we aren't prepared to put the money down, I personally think his best options lie at either Boro or Cov before Ipswich. Boro is commutable, and he has worked with Lampard before and also not a million miles away at Cov. Hollywood FC wanted him when we got him, although clutching at straws now.

I think we will regret not signing him until the end of the season from the outset if he doesn't. You would have thought the deal would have been done by now unless it is a more complex deal where he is after more contract security like a 3 1/2 year deal or something. Still hopeful we can get it over the line but if not we will have to move on and fast, when he left Leeds, he was a striker that was known to be injury prone and one that got in good positions but didn't hit the target, although that opinion has definitely changed in the short time he has been here, we need to have options lined up that can hit the ground running.

Bamford has had more clubs than John Rahm

He would drop us for Cov / Ipswich at the drop of Hat

He is quite clearly waiting around to see whats what and if he gets a better offer

And i think the wilder love in treatment shows that he has always been umming and arring waiting for a better offer

He would drop us for Coventry or Ipswich at the drop of a hat.
Bloody hell you are well connected.

On the face of it he seems like he’s enjoying himself here but I guess at this stage of his career if Ipshit offer more money and/or a longer contract he’ll probably go

We like dishing out a 3 year contract though.

Low quality trolling on display here.

Patrick Bamford has been contracted to 5 clubs in a professional career spanning nearly 15 years. FOReST (2yrs), Chelsea (5yrs), Middlesbrough (18mths), Leeds (6.5 yrs) and now us.

He got loaned out a lot at Chelsea but that's standard for most young players at Chelsea over the last 2 decades.

I can't imagine Coventry or Middlesbrough matching us in wages.
I doubt Ipswich will make it worth his while to uproot from this area.
But understandably he needs a minimum two year contract.
He's definitely enjoying himself here and he knows we've taken him to heart.
Fingers crossed we get it sorted asap.

We need to stop the chant according to Wilder.

He had 10 clubs in 6 years before he moved to leeds please explain how that is trolling ?

He was teh definition of a nomadic footballer

Moving clubs is no problem for Patrick

I hope he stays

Bamford had two clubs in those six years but went out on loan from the first of those, presumably as a result of being told that he wasn't in the first team plans. In fact, staying at Chelsea but going out on loan would suggest that he's actually the opposite of what you're suggesting.

Young players at Chelsea get loaned out a lot. Is Rhys Norrington-Davies a nomadic player? He's on his sixth club in as many seasons.
