Any ITK ers any idea what the situation is?
I ve seen a couple of posts where its been said hes happy to stay but its down to his agent and money. But nothing concrete.
I suppose an indication will be if hes involved today. Am I right in thinking his current deal ended today or is it the end of this month?

Hope he stays. I think he'll be the difference between the possibility (long shot) of playoffs or mediocrity mid to bottom end of table.

Agent will presumably push the negotiations down to the wire to extract the maximum possible wages (not a criticism - just a prediction). I expect he’ll sign, but that we won’t hear anything concrete until the final day of his current contract.

Personally think if he was staying it would be sorted now
I agree - whilst I think he’ll be happy to stay - he will likely be listening to his agent who he is paying to get him one last big payday. It’ll very much depend what offers he gets elsewhere…..but it’s 50/50 at best he stays I guess.

I don't claim to be an expert on body language, but there was a moment today when the TV camera's zoomed in on him, Cannon and I think Ings, sat in the dugout shortly after we had scored our 3rd. The crowd was rocking at this point and the look on Bamford's face was like a kid in a sweet shop. I think it will take something special to lure him away, but we'll see.

I think as long as we put a decent wage on the table he stays he is one of the cleverest footballers and from one of the richest families in the uk He will know if he leaves he may not hit the ground running like he as here. His mind will not be influenced by a agent.

I don’t not from one of the richest families. He’s not related to JCB.

He did go to Private school.

Quite an interesting wiki:

Bamford was offered a place at Harvard University and on the Harvard Men's Soccer team, but he rejected the offer to continue his career in England.

Described by the Yorkshire Evening Post in 2018 as "not your typical footballer", he plays the piano, violin, guitar and saxophone, and is conversational in French, Spanish, and German. He has said that his more privileged upbringing has led him to be treated differently in a sport where most players are from the working class.

My thoughts on this from various tidbits and rumours:

In summary, a deal to the end of the season with us, with no option to extend, seems most likely.

Rumours he/agent wants 2.5 years, and they’re the offers he’s entertaining seriously from abroad

Doesn’t want to bounce around for the last 2/3 years of career. Wants one more move/long deal

He’s supposedly really happy with how it’s turned out for him with us. Another win on Sunday with him starting, to compound our form and his minutes, and I think he signs till the end of the season, hoping he has a chance at promotion with us, or continuing to showcase himself as worth a 2 year contract here or elsewhere afterwards.

Nothing concrete from anyone ITK. This one has nicely been kept indoors, with only tiny multi-source leaks (we can afford his wage for rest of season and can match other EFL offers, wants 2.5 yrs, wants one more long contract without multiple moves)

I thought that at the end of the game yesterday we would have had an anouncement from Gary Sinclair

'Some Happy New Year news for all Blades, Patrick Bamford has signed a two year deal'.

This would have been said as the players left the pitch in front of a full, appreciative, applauding crowd.

Then I realised the last part was too far-fetched.

Gerrim twinkling the keys in fan park before Oxford!

With his current form he’s ( and his agent ) are holding all the aces in this one , the lads integral to our current run of form . I thought this would have all been sorted by now , which makes me think they are looking for a better offer . Sadly the longer this goes on the more it moves away from us , I could see another club stepping in with cash / longer contract & taking the gamble on him .
From a football perspective the lad looks like he’s enjoying his football here , he’s a very intelligent footballer & a lot better player than I thought he was . I just hope we can get this one over the line ⚔️

Not necessarily. His contract runs till after the Mansfield game and before the Charlton game. Any good agent will advise him to wait till then, to see if something excellent is offered from elsewhere. In the meantime, he is playing for us and he and his teammates are continuing to have the best form in the league. He’d be crackers to take our offer before he needs to. We aren’t going to rescind it. All seems very normal to me.

Just a word on Bamford yesterday. He snatched at a couple of opportunities v Leicester and on another day could have scored a couple.
But he’s a wily old fox,his movement between the defenders is top drawer, always giving them something to think about and he’s still got a decent bit of pace on him.
It’s obvious Wilder wants to keep him,up to him and the management to get the deal over the line🤞
I really hope we get this one done.

If he has offers from USA etc can you blame him not wanting the experience, I’d take the opportunity.
Guess it will come down to his family and the changes it would mean.

It would be daft for him to leave for another English club.

United fans have taken to him, he’s in form his said before that he’s settled up north and that was why coming here in the first place suited him.

So then his options become Coventry, Hull, Preston, Stoke, Derby & Leicester.

Coventry have already turned him down & im not sure the others would be willing and able to offer a similar package to what we will for the remainder of the season. As a player you’re also restarting from scratch with expectations

To be fair you don’t have to be mega rich to go through private schools. A friend of mine put both his kids through private education, he was born and raised in inner city Leeds (Seacroft) and lived at the time in Batley. He is a pub/club singer with a 3 piece band and also does stand up comedy. When his kids were in private school he was doing that along with a full time job and a weekend day job, he then did gigs Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun evenings and his wife worked 2 jobs too. The commitment was huge and nearly killed them both (literally) but after doing that for near on 20 years, he dropped down to just a couple of gigs and a part time job and his Mrs doing one job but one kid is a Dr after graduating from Durham and the other is in cyber security both in high paid professions. I am not saying that is what the Bamfords did but with a hell of a lot of commitment and extra work it is possible.

A Birkdale Blades player if there ever was one. Well done Patrick, well done. You’ve earned another couple of years on the payroll.

Ideally, this is all a bit of a ruse and he has all ready signed, at least, until the end of the season.
Imagine Wilder (and his new mate Bamford) playing a game like that?

I'd consider 2.5 years if it meant keeping him, he is a model pro, came in and looked as sharp and as fit as ever after not playing for a while. He's clearly good off the pitch and I think he's smart enough to adapt to what may be a decline in athleticism towards the end of the deal. Maybe reinvent himself as a super sub or even a number 10.
He is playing a risky game however as when he got clattered yesterday that could have been that for him, deal ends without a contract and injured, probably gets nothing til the summer then
