He'll sign until at least the end of the season. I have it on good authority.

I don't see how he won't really.

He has spoken about how he hasn't had to move house.
He's spoken about the relationship with Wilder and also mentioned how pleased he is that he had faith in him etc.

People saying there's no loyalty, but if he turned his back on us now, that would be a proper C U Next Tuesday trick, and despite many people on here's thought on him, he doesn't actually come across as one.

Interesting that, in the presser for the Leicester game, Wilder asked the fans to stop with the Bamford chant
Not the only interesting thing hes said recently. He deemed to have a slight dog at hecky in the stoke post match interview.

Said something on the lines of.. its not a slav moment when he was replaced (this is a bigger job), that dressing room policed its self and you had big players and characters, this team is completely different.

*I cant remember what it was word for word, im sure someone could find it.

Bur seemed very dismissive of heckys efforts to turn that season around and get us in the play offs. Something or someone has said something to him or hes seen or heard something he hasnt liked.

Probably fair, tbh. It was very clear this season that the players were all over the place, not knowing what to do, and emotionally beaten. Under Slav, I think they were performing in his style, which was utter shit. They didn’t look broken?

Bit of a strange moment to undermind heckys job at the time & try distance any comparison of both seasons.

We was massivly under performances under slav i agree, he like selles tried to change too much in 1 go and it didnt work, although under skav we didnt reslly have the players to play his style of football (at the back end of the pitch). Criminal to think we had berge, MGW & Illiman & norwood in the squad and was sat where we was.

They were asked to play Slav ball but we were not a side littered with pace that could counter attack fast. So it just didn't work and we didn't land any of the wingers he wanted to make it work. All Hecky needed to do was get the players back playing a formation that suited them. I think Hecky deserves more praise for having to handle the nonsense going on off the pitch.

Also, Wilder's post match Stoke interview was highlighting the difference between this dressing room and previous ones. Not sure it was a dig at Hecky all but highlighting we don't have the same sort of characters in the dressing room like we used to. I would argue it was a subtle dig at the current squad to be honest and for fans not to expect the same as previous squads.

My main issue with Wilder is it's great having characters and a dressing room that can police itself BUT those sort of players can sometimes be limited in their ability.

I think he was comparing the groups of players then and recent present.

Seems logical and the more reasonable explanation.

Shows how things can be easily interpreted the wrong way, when I first heard it I read too much into it & assumed he was trying to state dont be comparing this season and that. As though he ucandomagic comparison charts and got a bit shirty about it 😂 incase he doesnt finish same as hecky did.

But im happy to say I probably got it wrong and go with what you said.

Please forgive me. I’m a Blade in London with a one year old and haven’t been to a game in ages. What’s the Bamford chant?

"Doo doo doo, Wilder is a Wanker"

It's like our version of reclaiming the N word (not Nottingham)

Leeds fans sang it last season, and Bamford started a chant of it when they got promoted

Weren't we singing the old 'running past defenders, scoring one or two' chant about him at Stoke? I heard it aired a few times during the game. Although we may need to shoehorn 'running past defenders, getting one or two sent off' in there somewhere as well.

Yeah it was solid at Wrexham, but didn’t get going across the whole end at Stoke for whatever reason. Was very isolated. Only heard one quiet rendition from our block

Cheers. Knew the chant. Didn’t realise we’d co-opted it 😂.

Why? It's clearly working for the lad. He's in his best form for a long time, bonded with the fans and seems to be loving life as a Blade.

Why would Wilder stop something that has connected and is working? Is he now working for the BBC? (the TV version)

And it's not like it'll stop even then- the repurposing of the Ndiaye song is nowhere near as funny and ironic.

Absolutely cracking footballer, hasn't really put a foot wrong for us so far (apart from maybe cocking up the backheel attempt at the sty, but to be fair to him, had it worked it would have gone down as maybe the greatest goal in our history). He's a clever player, in the McGoldrick mould. Seems to instinctively know what the right thing to do is, know where teammates are, where to play a pass etc etc. He is a bit of a (to use an overused term) "Rolls-Royce footballer."

I'd always rated him, but always thought he was a bit of a prick. However he's come across well since he's been here, and has done a lot to dispel that opinion of him. I think he's a classy player, probably in a little group that can look too good for the Championship, but couldn't quite cut it a division above.

I'd offer him a 2 and a half year deal if he'd take whatever we can afford to pay him. Played well so far, the team seem to like him, and he gives us another option at the top end of the pitch. Keep him fit and we'll reap the rewards in terms of goals and assists.

Just sign the bloody contract Pat. If he did he’d already have the keys to half of Yorkshire (Leeds and Sheffield for those that are a bit slow)
