Looking a little more possible after tonight...

Tonight's game is massiver than Sheffield Wednesday! If we can find 4points+ from the next 2 games, we are very much ON!

Win at norwich we go 10th ...5 points behind Wrexham with them coming to the lane ...beat them we are just 2 points off 6th.....

Win by 2 goals and we go 9th above Watford on goals scored

3 very hard games next 3. Could easily get 0. Very much hope we win one this week for pre wrexham confidence

If we want to have a real shot at the play-offs we probably need 7/9 out of the next three games, but in order to have a real shot at that we kind of have to win tonight for the confidence boost. Norwich is in quite good form so it will be very close I think. Hopefully we can get the three points, if we get that I am quite positive about us going on a streak!

It is not going to happen.

I appreciate it’s nice to have something to cling onto but we’ve not shown anywhere near the level of consistency required to make a go of it.

Realistically we probably need 24 points to make the playoff from the last 10. (assuming everyone maintains their season PPG)

Or best 10 game run this season was from the away Derby to Leicester at Home, where we W7, D1 and L2 - for 22 points.

So we need our best form of the season over the next 10 to have even a sniff of a chance.

They're in Top 4 in the 5, 10 & 15 games form - will be a tough one tonight

On the flip side to that, their home form is patchy with three wins (two against bottom 5 sides) and three defeats in their last 6. Those defeats are perhaps surprising as Birmingham in particular are generally dreadful away (19th in the away table); Watford bad (16th) and Stoke bang average (12th). For what it's worth, we're 13th in the overall away table and 8th in the 6-match away form table (W3 D1 L2).

Norwich 2-0 Wednesday
Norwich 1-2 Birmingham
Norwich 2-0 Blackburn
Norwich 2-1 Coventry
Norwich 0-2 Stoke
Norwich 0-1 Watford

Final thought: there have been two draws in the 35 matches played by United away (P18 W7 D1 L10) and Norwich at home (P17 W6 D1 L10).

They've picked up though as 3 of their 6 home wins have come in their last 4 games

clutching at straws, is this what we have come down to? wilder has done his job, just accept and move on to next season..............whatever the division
Whilst I accept its improbable - why would you not continue to clutch at straws until it was mathematically impossible?
Isn't every season different levels of clutching at straws to a point apart from a couple of teams?

We could still go down until it's mathematically impossible.

Are you worried about that?

If not then what's the point in clutching at straws that we might still go up?

He's a thoroughly dreadful goalkeeper in all respects. He did make one good save against West Brom, but his shot stopping in general is terrible (for recent reference, see FA Cup v Mansfield and many others), his distribution is awful, and he sticks to his own line like his life depends on it. He has absolutely no strengths at all.

You can make all the excuses for him you like but most people can see with their own eyes just how bad he is. He'll cost us in a few games before the season ends and it was negligence by the club not to replace him in January.

utb
Agreed with what you are saying and personally don't think we should extend but he has played 6 matches in total in the last 2 seasons. It's hard to switch on like that regardless of how good a pro you actually are when your last start was the Mansfield fixture in January (prior to Coopers injury). The major upside of this Davies is unlike Cooper, McCallum and Tom Davies, Adam Davies is at least fit enough for selection when needed. He didn't do anything wrong against West Brom, it was the poor tracking back and defending of the players in front of him for their goal which was an excellent shot plus the not finishing them off that did it. We should have won that
