hi hullblade m8 ill meet you one day what is your team for Saturday pal ...utb

That would be good pal . My team similar to yours though I would not be as brave in attack . I would probably start with McBurnie and Robinson upfront and bring Sharp on in the second half .

Having said that , I keep re thinking it and changing it! I will be like Claudia “tinker man “ Raneri !

That would be an exciting style of play pasta and if you have the quality players it would be great to watch .

Aye I wish I was going too , unfortunately not many Blades can fit into their little ground .

Hey pasta man kop blade , good to see you are cheering up now pal :)

With your background can you give me any recommendations on places to visit in Italy?

We've had 2 visits so far - first was a week staying in Pisa . It was good as a base from where we also could visit the beautiful Florence and Lucca, and we also have spent a week in Venice - that was even more beautiful a place than I had ever expected from what people told me before (but expensive).

We were wondering about Sorrento or maybe Roma next?

Ciao for now :)

That's correct, the grief you were getting pasta man has been dealt with. Look forwards not back.
If anyone else comes on here and gives you shit they'll very quickly be shot down in flames.
Chow

Hey pasta man kop blade, you’ve made it on here! You may not realise it but Bert is practically S24SU royalty, nobility as a minimum. I imagine an invitation to his Gentlemen’s Club must be imminent. I doubt they serve pasta, it’s a bit old school.....

Pasta man would be very welcome at Bert's Gentleman's Club, but you are correct, no foreign grub permitted there. Had to expell a member once who'd asked the maître d for a Black Forest Gateau.

Ive been to a few places in Italia. Here’s my assessment.

Venice- been once definitely worth visiting, really unique feel because of all the waterways, only visited for a day which I really enjoyed but not sure I’d stay longer, reminded me of the Norfolk Broads with all the transport being boat related, prefer land to water.

Florence- been 3 times for a few days each time, beautiful place, reminded me of York or Chester but obviously much nicer. Didn’t seem that big so can walk around the city centre. Fantastic buildings and art galleries, still feels old worldly.

Roma- been once for the day, similiar vibe to London, very busy, loads of traffic, big place and spread out.
Full of old buildings and ruins that are still being dug up. St Peters is really really impressive and the Colosseum feels amazing to be there.

Sorrento- been 4 times on 2 week holidays, really beautiful place, special very romantic vibe, quite a small place more like a big village.
I actually went to an end of season serie C play-off match whilst there about 15 years ago, it was Sorrento versus Savoia.
Down on that south coast everything is built high up on the edge of cliffs, so loads of breathtaking views from hotels, bars and restaurants.
Plenty of great excursions near by too all worth doing....Amalfi coastline, Ravello, Positano, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri.

Really pleased that you feel welcome Pastaman.

Must admit that in the early days I thought you was an attention seeking Wednesday fan pretending to support United on the wind up.
I didn’t insult you though.....not my style....so just didn’t reply to your posts.
Hope you understand that there has been a few new posters on the wind up over the Summer so it was easy assumption to make....at least we now know you’re genuine.

Florence was beautiful but we went in August and it was too damn hot for standing in queues for places like the Duomo. Thought about going again at a cooler time of year and maybe then do a day in Rome as well, think there's a fast train from Florence.

What you say about Sorrento echoes what I've been told so that's a probability for a trip, would love to see Pompeii as well.

Edit: re what you said about Venice transport, actually thought the opposite - we got a weekly pass and hopped on and off boats all the time, really good. Also got a boat (the Alilaguna) right to/from the airport which dropped us off outside our apartment.

Now then pasta man ,
Hope your feeling ok today . The mighty Blades are back in action . Great to have the footy season back eh .

Hope your prediction comes true , that would get us up and running.

Up the Blades

Did you watch Liverpool beat Norwich 4 - 1 pasta ? One of your suggestions Mo Salah scored too . Quality player.

My prediction today is 2 - 2 draw . However I’m hoping your prediction is correct but a draw would still be a good start .
