Hi Guys,

Really looking forward to tomorrow, set up to be a cracker and I know it'll be a great test. Was really impressed with some of your players last week and the fans were great.

I was hoping someone might be able to give some advice for parking near your stadium? I am having trouble finding much info.

Thanks in advance,

Hi there. Parking near the ground is horrific. Very difficult to park on the street as its permit holders. If you arrive for 6pm you should be OK. Earlier than that ya not allowed I don't think.

Failing that there's a NCP at the train station (walking distance)

Or

Park at Nunnery Square park & ride, get on a supertram into the city. Get off at the train station and walk from there

That's great, thanks.

If I park at the train station, is it within easy walking distance and signposted?

Thanks again for the help.

Put City Road or Granville road in your Sat Nav. Get there an hour before and you should be ok for free parking. 10 mins from ground. Possibly 15.

Don't pay NCP prices.

A genius parking area is Meadowhead. You are far better off coming off the M1 at Chesterfield. Follow signs for Sheffield and after the first sign which says Low Edges welcome to Sheffield go over the big roundabout with the Audi showroom and then look for a side road. Stand at a bus stop and get a quick bus into town. You then won't be stuck for an hour in traffic on the way out of Sheffield.

Thanks for the advice mate. I'll actually be coming via Newcastle under Lyme so won't be using the M1. Will this still work?

Just in case things don't go to plan - depending on your agenda for the evening (arriving early/want to stay for a drink after, or aren't in a rush to get away) then - if you're prepared to put a bit of a walk in to the ground, anywhere around the ring road you should find parking by hopping off onto the routes back out. Ring Road is about 5.5 miles diameter but can really crawl between 17:00-18:30 and because of the game I expect it will still be crawling till 20:00!

It doesn't matter which way round the inner ring road you go (apart from the tedium of a million sets of lights) you should find somewhere but the Lane is on the southern side so the north side of it will be too far - you can park closer - options exist inside the ring road in multi-storeys etc. Just allow the time.

Edit: if you're coming in across the pennines from Staffs/Newcastle-U-L you'll come in on the west/south-west side - that's the best option - don't even go as far as the ring road or the Lane.... get to within about a mile and start planning to throw it on a side street. You'll even walk past some decent boozers too...

No.

Just park off one of the side streets anywhere in the last mile.

But i'll defer to Somebody who actually lives in Sheffield as to whether Abbeydale road is busy at that time!

There is a multi-storey car park 5-minutes walk from the away end. If you hand your token to attendant when returning you pay only £3.50 as long as you can prove you have been to the match; which of course will be easy because you will be in tears after getting beat by a 3rd tier team ;)

Street parking is Permit holders only until 6.30pm. On match days the traffic wardens seem to multiply. I think their bonus is calculated on their ticketing on those days.

Shropshire_Spurs You could however, park up at Dore train station and get a train into sheffield and back out again. Last train is at 22:47.

Don't worry about extra time, it'll only take us 90 to finish the tie :)

That's great, thanks.

Thanks again for the help.

Find a parking space and just follow the bright lights and crowds to the Mecca of football.

Sidney street is a good place for parking, a few cheap car spaces there think there's even a charity car park on there which is about £2 all day. Easy to miss traffic as well and head back onto parkway to pick up the M1. 3 mins walk from ground also.
