No, wait... you mean there will be people there that actually support the team rather than moaning the whole game and spoiling it for everyone around them. Might we actually have supporters that actually cheer on the team rather than making us the laughing stock of Yorkshire with our so called fans. I really can;t believe it.

Here is a man with a Plan, make sure its a Pub with Sky and there is no way you will make it to the Game.
Dont forget Sky have paid the club a six figure sum to transmit the Game to said Pub, so in a way you have paid, through Beer, to watch the Game and Support the Blades.
And an added Bonus is you wont even remember the Game, Bang On

Well I am not going, but its nothing to do with any protoest, I have a meal out with friends for a birthday celebration (my wifes 50th, bit difficult to miss really). Because I live some distance away the kick off time makes it impossible to do both. You can be assured though I would have been there otherwise.

I find it interesting that you are, in a round about way, accusing those who actually go to the game to clap, boo or whatever as apathetic while those who sod off to the pub seem to fit some ideal as brave freedom fighters, sticking it to the man by keeping warm and having a few pints.
What I am suggesting is the opposite of apathy. If people want to make their point, they should organise themselves and make their point directly. Actions do speak louder than words, but some actions speak louder than others and an organised protest is surely more effective than an evening in the Monk or whinging a bit on a website?
There could be any number of reasons that people stay away against Palace. The weather's turned, it's on TV, it's a later ko... how can any stayaways be attributed solely to a protest against the board?

I don't see the point in this particular protest. Why moan that McCabe isn't putting his hand in his pocket when transfer window is closed anyway! Fair enough loans can be brought in, but i'd rather bank that cash for the transfer window and attempt to ride this out till then.
If, McCabe still doesn't put his hand in his pocket in January, then is the time to have a go, and i'll be more than happy to disapprove along with you at that point! We've just become another set of impatient, 'want it now' attitude, set of fans that the Premier Clubs have been for a few years already, and it saddens me!

I have no problem really with the board or Speed (yet) however as a club we need to concentrate on football, not getting flags firetested or telling us to vote for our MOM while the game is going on and we are losing. I am at a serious loss to who our marketing genius is. We need to concentrate on football, I want our players to concentrate on football and we are turning into a circus.

Spot on pal. I'm in agreement on this one. The season's gone to shit, so, like you say, ride it out till january(that's hoping and assuming we're not bottom of the league and six points adrift by then!! and then let's see how desperate we are to remain in this division.

If they’re going to protest by not using their season tickets for that match, why don’t they collect them all together and make a ceremonial presentation to local Children’s homes?
They could invite the press and media along, get a chance to explain what they’re protesting about and show support for a good cause (as opposed to a lost one).
I know the tickets are supposed to be non-transferable but are United really going to turn a load of needy kids away on the day?

I'm not going out of my way to defend the club. They're big enough and daft enough to do that for themselves. But an Operations Manager has absolutely nothing to do with football and everything to do with food, tickets, fans etc. Working on things like getting flags tested isn't distracting Simon Argall from picking the team, making them play and dealing with transfers because erm... he doesn't have anything to do with those things
He does however have to make as much money as he can in his area of responsibility to spend on the football side by keeping fans happy through everything BUT the football and the flag thing has come about because of fan requests (not so much on this site but elsewhere).
We all know, the club included, that the ultimate product is on the pitch. But it isn't an either/or situation. The MOTM vote doesn't stop McCabe putting his hand in his pocket.

As Linz says, if people feel they're not getting value for money then they're entitled to stay away.....no argument there. However, I fail to see what it would achieve if it is being done for any other reason. In the case of season ticket holders, the club has your money now and that is quite literally all they're bothered about.
A mass boycott will only affect the players and worsen an already dreary atmosphere, so any boycott wont have the sort of impact the people in question would be hoping for. As has already been said in this thread.....you need to show your faces collectively and take a stand at the game if you want to make a point.
Empty gestures of non-attendance just makes the club look like it has fairweather and sour supporters.....which is probably true to a large extent, although you cant blame people with how much it costs to support your team nowadays.
The point Linz made about handing season tickets back as a bigger gesture is a good one. The reason people dont do this and choose to simply not show is because football fans want it both ways. They want to spit their dummy out when its not going well and then show up if the team starts winning again like they've never been away.

I would be going to the game, but I'm over in Leeds for the day, I've had this planned since December, so way before the fixtures were out, so no boycott or whatever you call it for me. Just can't make it this week.
