Oxford on Tuesday

No, I read what some Oxford fans were saying each of the many times he was linked with us. "Have him" or "I'll drive him" were amongst the suggestions. His Oxford team was dull, basic and no better than workmanlike. That's my opinion. I saw them.

But that is not what you said yesterday. You said he didn't do "particularly well". This was a statement of opinion from you and you didn't attribute this to Oxford fans.

I've pointed out he got them promoted in his first full season, so now you tell us it's all about what 'some' (presumably unsubstantiated), Oxford fans said.

You made something up and instead of admitting it, you are now blaming 'some Oxford fans'.

Not much point continuing with this is there?

I thought that a while ago...

Incorrect - most Oxford fans dislike him now because he left for Northampton after Oxford continuously stalled on a new contract and then only offered a 1 year extension. They didn't want him to leave at the time no matter what you read.

Ever since he started at Bradway FC, he's left every club he's managed in a better state and higher league position that when he joined

I didn't realise that, when managing Oxford, they were at one point top of the Conference table by five points with a game in hand, but slumped in the latter part of the season, ending in the playoffs (which they won)

Only one team went up from the Conference automatically then (I think), but that Oxford season will be at the back of Wilder's mind with us having a similar lead today. Hopefully he'll take lessons from it. If the unthinkable happens and we do drop into the Play Offs, well he will have experience there too.

Accident on M40 both ways for those travelling that way! Not hit the traffic yet but signs saying long delays.
UTB

I would have thought that Oxford & Wilder would both have fond memories and mutual respect from their time together. It was Chris who brought them back from the abyss of non-league football. I don't expect any favours though.
And wasn't Hodgy goalkeeping coach there for a while?

Oops! Decided to risk M40 as traffic was flowing ..... Now stuck motionless 4 miles from exit junction. Fuck!

If still bad and you are further up M40 you can get off at Banbury (J11) and use A4260 Road to Oxford

To get through Banbury set sat nav / head for adderbury and just keep going

From an outside perspective, I'd give it to you 2-0. (Or 0-2 to be politically correct.)
Think Wilder will be chomping at the bit for the result.
Would also be somewhat poetic justice if Wright was to surprisingly find himself on the scoresheet against his former employers, was his last goal a decade ago? Believe it was us that gave him to Oxford, he's come a long way since then.
Meanwhile I'm crapping it about an away match against rock-bottom Rotherham as we try to throw it all away!

You the Brighton fan I know that lives in Rotherfield by any chance?

Carruthers disappointed again away from home yesterday. We need a disciplined midfield Tuesday for me.

Not seen it mentioned but if you watch the highlights from Rochdale, right at the end Duffy can be seen limping down the tunnel with a huge ice pack on his ankle.....wouldnt be surprised to see him missing tonight

Not much progress on their planned new stand behind the goal then

Out of the games this season this one has me feeling the nerves more. With only Scunthorpe playing tonight who have a realistic chance of autos we have a great opportunity to put more daylight between the chasing pack. A win at this late stage of the season would really make me believe but a loss would seriously give the others a lift. Come on blades, let's do this!

We may lose a couple between now and the end of the season but we will win more so don't fret yet. Oxford will be fired up for this due mainly through their fans hatred for Wilder and that will be instilled into their players, so no easy ride here tonight. Again, i'd settle for a point.

Nope, sorry, to the best of my knowledge I don't know any Blades fans in person. That's unless you owe him money, then of course it's me!

Good luck tonight guys and gals, and don't take any bull from them! (Sorry that really was terrible.)

We've drawn too many recently and it's now important to win this game after only managing a draw yesterday in a game most of us had down as a win.

Oxford could be without Rob Hall and Chris Maguire, their two key attacking players. It looks like Kane Hemmings and Curtis Nelson could also be missing. But as we saw yesterday, a weakened opponent is no guarantee of victory. They've lost their last two home games 2-0 to Southend and Bristol Rovers though which could be an encouraging sign.

Their pitch doesn't look great but it's nowhere near as cut up and bumpy as Rochdale's is. It looks much firmer.

I think Wilder will make some changes. It's exactly the sort of time to use the squad and we have good options. In addition to that both Hanson and Duffy picked up knocks yesterday, and Fleck seemed to pull something in the first half. I'd expect to see Carruthers or possibly O'Shea come in for Duffy, and maybe Lavery for Hanson. EEL to RCB and Basham into midfield wouldn't be a massive shock either.

Mystic Ricky. Good shout mate.

Oxford have everyone back fit. Shit! Very attacking line up so should be a decent game.

Pitch looks OK.

I have said for a few weeks this would be a very good place to go and get a point.
