Assuming the worst and relegation occurs, I would get shut of the lot and replace them with a bunch of ugly thugs who are good at kicking lumps out of the opposition (actually it could be right up Morg's street!). I'm joking obviously! Sadly the club will be saddled with the overpaid, over the hill journeymen that have got us in this position. The wages of the likes of Evans and Henderson are not sustainable for a club in League 1 (probably questionable in the Championship) given the fact McCabe appears to have lost his wallet....

I'd like to keep Evans, but if we go down he'll be sold for very cheap just to get his wages off the books. Ditto for Henderson (although isn't he available on a free at the end of this season anyway?)

The rest of them can leave.

There are players that I like that some posters here don't.

Forget names. Forget loyalty, and forget everything else.

Get rid of the lot of them. Every single one. Have a clean sweep, regardless of their service or loyalty. Let's build a new team. Some managers would prefer to do this basing a new team on the nucleus of the old - thing Lord Ferg at Manure - but we can't do this, because the nucleus of the team is not good enough.

Get rid of them all. Most are not fit to wear the shirt anyway. Build a new team, bringing players from the Academy through. The Premier League is a long time ago and a long way away, so let's build a team that entertains and has some pride in playing for Sheffield United. Start again. Rebuild.

it is an interesting thing that NOT ONE of our players was linked with speculation to other teams (upgrading.. not sidegrading like ward).. because they are crap!! noone wanted them (oh, and don't give me the usual guff about.. ooh monty nearly went to barcelona.. he's always nearly going somewhere.. 'best i've ever played against'.. i'd have him tomorrow.. yadda yadda)

Apart from that I would keep the improving Ched Evans in an ideal world but he is too expensive and I dont think a Blades side in decline will ever get the best out of him to make it worth the investment. Other than the youngsters the rest can be moved on.

Whatever anyones opinion on Evans, surely nobody trhinks he's worth anywhere near his £20K per week. Not now, and not ever. It's this silly loss of the purse strings that has left us with the shower of shite we now are.

Some will get their wish, because no other team would pay Evans near half what we do. So like it or not, he's ours for keeps.

That list of players will be lucky to survive in the lower leagues! We don't have anyone who can make a difference and who can win football matches, we're well and truly in decline and with no investment there won't be any stopping it. We're as good as down this season, and unless we ship the lot out and have a complete re-vamp we'll be in the same position next year at this time.

On another note, I thought the recent sale in the Blades shop was great, some real bargains.......................................but why did I have the uncomfortable feeling that I was at a "closing down" sale?

Strange atmosphere at the Lane right now, I've been there for numerous relegation seasons but this one has an almost terminal feel about it, and that's scary.
