Pick three to solve our weaknesses.
 

I'm afraid I don't know the Championship well enough to firmly comment. I'd love us to take Bogdanovic from the Dingles though. He has always looked lively when I've seen him. I'd then be looking at bringing in a centre back next, but I can't see anyone there who catches my eye.

It is very important that we get Monty and Naysmith to put pen to paper. I hope that McCbae and Birch can see further than the ends of their noses and offer them what they want. Monty wants to stay and Naysmith is preperaed to take a cut. after all the talk about cutting the wage bill, no more loans etc at the Q&A session then I'd hope we get these 2 to extend. It actually makes sense to offer them more (in a perverse way). For example if we are constantly having to bring in midfielders, defenders on loan (as this season) then the wage bill will be (artificially) high again next year. Sign em up!

Not a lot who actually stand out massively from that lot, which just shows the amount of dross who are probably earning above their level at the moment while clubs hoard large squads of 30-40 players on decent wages - hopefully this summer will see a massive re-alignment to a more sensible level in terms of squad size, wage bills and most importantly players' individual wage demands.

However, from that (and blatently ignoring your rule of just 3 players) i'd hope that we could re-sign Naysmith and Monty on sensible, affordable wages (i dissagree with people who argue that we should re-sign them whatever and should pay them what they want - the point is many players are on massively over-inflated wages, of which United are one of the main culprits - hopefully when they realise the wages on offer elsewhere are not what they'd hope for they'll re-sign on our terms).

Then from your list, i'd like to take a serious look at:

Defenders
Youl Mawene - Was a brilliant defender at one point (we signed the wrong partner in Claude), if he's still as decent i'd hope he'd be definitely on our radar!
Chris Riggot - Had LOTS of injury problems but a good solid defender and i could see him partnering Morgs well.
Liam Fontaine - decent backup CB.
Lee Hills - If Naysmith didn't re-sign i'd take a look at this lad for LB.

Midfielders
Gary Teale - in the Glen Little mould and can play on either wing.
Akos Buzsaky - although zero chance of this imho
Gylfi Sigurosson - surely Reading have tied this kid down by now? It is this lad who has about 17 goals this year isn't it?
Grant McCann - not a great player, but neat, tidy, great at set pieces and would provide back-up to Williamson when he's not available

Strikers
Daniel Bogdanovic - only really needed if we manage to flog Henderson (please god!) but he looks a very decent CF - good in the air, with his feet, composed, and scores a fair few even in a average team.
Clinton Morrison - offers something a bit different to what we have currently - but only viable if Sharp and probably Hendo both leave, would be wary about his mentality/attitude and wage demands though.

Still from that list I can't see many Right backs available, not that many centre halfs, and only a few attractive midfielders (all of whom we desperately need) who would all probably be chased by other clubs - so unfortunately I can't see many working out.

I think its time we spend our limited funds on younger potential from the lower leagues a la Wardy or unknown maybe's from outside England (Scotland, Ireland and abroad) like West Brom, Reading and Sweansea have in recent times.

Chris Roggott is a good shout, Joe Ledley (though could be too costly) and if Monty does go maybe look at Nicky Butt.

Out of interest Paulus, where'd you get that info from? Good bit of data there, and i wonder if there's similar available for PL, League 1 and League 2 players? Although i think some of stuff might be alittle out now, (im sure there are some players on there who have resigned with their clubs) - hasn't spurr renewed with them lot from S6?

I'd be interested if there's any young fringe players available from the PL this summer, or any bright stars from the lower leagues who are holding out for a bigger challenge in the championship?

He should be snapped up if the oinkers drop, he's a decent full back its just the fans have made him into a scapepig this season.

Other than him I'd get McCann and Bogdanovic.

Four for me please - Riggot, Mawene, Britton and Sigurosson, with Monty, Naysmith, Little and Camara resigning.

I found it on a Swansea site, looked at a few of them and thought that it seemed generally accurate although I guess there are probably a few ommissions and additions.

It is a prety good list though, there's always going to be a few missing but i does give people some ideas of whose available! - anyone found anything similar for PL or lower league players? Think that'd be a more useful market for us to shop in - imho we either need to chase the younger elite potential from the PL wanting to establish themselves at a supposedly 'big' Championship club, or the lower league gems like ALF (roverum) and Austin (Swindon) etc...

Clinton Morrison - As he will always get goals especially with the way our team is setup.

Sign these 3 and perhaps make another good signing and Sheffield United might just get me to renew my season ticket.

Beckford, Adomah and Dagnall are three lower league players I know are out of contract.
 
I've always liked Jay deMerit at Watford, plus Riggott would be a good signing as would bogdanovic from baaaarnsley.

What wages are they on, and what would they be prepared to accept next season?

As McCabe said in Friday's forum, it's more about wage packages these days than transfer fees.
 
Sigurdsson has signed a new contract at Reading, as has Rowlands at QPR.

Out of the available I'd take Jon Grounds, Akos Buszaky and Leon Britton.
 
After watching the Palace game last night, I think Derry would be a good signing. I know he's not done himself any favours with the Bramall Lane faithful on his returns, but he never stopped working last night and was one a very few CPFC players who looked to make a composed pass.

Perhaps he figured he needs to repeat himself until people actually listen to what he says?

Given that the vast majority of all questioning at both fans forums were repeats, I'd suggest this is the way it's likely to keep going :)
