If Norwich don’t have an optional extra year in his deal then Sam Mcallum would be quite interesting. We’re likely to need a left back he’s a good age he looked quite a good prospect at Coventry before Norwich signed him and he’s made 25 appearances for them this year

I do think the OP does show that there are options.

We can:
A. Get decent recruitment done without paying fees.
B. Get decent recruitment done whilst reducing the wage bill.
C. Still end up with a decent team.
 
Dunne, McNair and O'Hare, please

Dunne's had a 1 year extension triggered I think but should still be a target

Would take Mowatt too, if he's leaving WBA. Another small CM but difficult to pass up on a free

Chris Willock and Callum O'Hare should be very high on our shopping list. Tyrese Campbell also.

I thought McNair was older than 28... So I'd 100% be keen on him.

A couple of others I've not seen enough of but would potentially be good enough; Sunjic and Dunne.

No chance on O'Hare, he'd have more chance of going up staying with Coventry than signing for us. Besides, he'll more than likely sign for a newly promoted team.
 
I wouldn't mind us having a go at Sam Gallagher, he may not score many but he's a decent target man and to do it a squad role like Wayne Allison did he could be a real asset. Like Madine did more recently.
 
Jamie Shackleton might be a decent pick up. Ben Osborn type player in that he can play across numerous different positions & generally puts in a solid 6 - 7 / 10.

I'm less keen on him than I was. His lack of goals has become ridiculous, he has no excuse

I'd rather get Kieffer Moore or push for Emil Riis instead - who Wilder bid 7m for when Boro manager

We need a couple of CFs to share the load. Especially if McBurnie is one of them, as now seems more likely

Shame you’re losing faith in Sam Gallagher Ricky, you’ve been banging on about him for years.
 
Ideally we'd pick up a couple from this list early on in the summer and start the rebuild.

Realisticslly we'll hear Wilder say he wants to get business done early to have the squad together for pre season, followed by weeks or months of the recruitment / negotiating team fucking about leaving us in desperate need of players 2 weeks before the first game.

kiefer moore would be an excellent signing imo know not many on here rate him but i do certainly at championship level hes a lot better on the deck than many give him credit for but also actually think osula and jebbison would get plenty of goals in the championship

Nobody sane would bet against that.
 
Controversial but i don’t think O’Hare is anything special. He’s OK but if we want to build a prem standard squad then he’s not good enough IMO.
 
I'd take plenty of those but a few are unrealistic as they will get better offers. I'ddefinitely still take Cooper as we need some fucker who can head a ball amd if Ipswich go up they may release Burgess and he'd be a good signing on a free.

Oh and we know Bradley Dack will end up here at some point but at 30 he's probably still got a few years before he needs to make the move !

i dont think it is controversial o hare is too similar to hamer and we need more physique in our midfield kasey palmer would be a much better signing imo

Agree with them being too similar except Hamer is a better version in my eyes. Palmer does offer something different, quite direct. If we are looking at cheap or free CAM/CM then I think John Swift has got that composure and creativity we need. If we can stretch the budget a bit then Karamoko Dembele would be a good one for potential and resale.

yeah always liked swift and we seem to have been linked to him for the last 3/4 seasons just like palmer better as you say hes direct can carry the ball and has some pace in any case do think we need 2 more midfielders to come in and both need to have some physicality were just a bit lightweight in midfield

We weren't close to what Swift was being offered in wages two years ago when he went on a free. Ignoring the fact that he's still under contract for another season, what makes you think that he is in any way a realistic target?
 
O'Hare and Hamer complimented each other just fine when they were teammates.

O'Hare is the one we should push the boat out for IMO. Let Hamer sit deeper and do a more box-to-box role with O'Hare acting as the main playmaker in a Duffy/McGoldrick role

His cost will be less as he’s in the last year of his contract and at 28 peaked a while back in terms of transfer/market potential.

No idea what his wages are TBH.

i would go along with that idea if we also brought in a big physical defensive midfielder we need some physicality in our midfielder
