It’s going to be an exceptionally low point total to stay up. You can well imagine 4th bottom getting a shade north of 30 points and that being enough.
Which is annoying and the sort of jammy thing the pigs do. It was pretty stupid of the owner to sell our 2 best players at the start of the season - given how relatively 'easy' it would have been to stay up this season. Presume the prize money for finishing 17th dwarves what we got for Berge and N'Diaye?!!

Our table is more like this

The amount of quality teams probably means there could be 4 teams who don’t get 30 points IMO

4 points from safety with 30 games left we could stay up comfortably

The keep hecky and rebuild brigade need to realise we can stay up comfortably with a competent man in charge

I appreciate that optimism is now banned, but as the OP says, we are still (incredibly) well in touch points wise, even if we are still miles off at times on the pitch.

Wolves, Bournemouth, Burnley and Luton are all coming up before the end of the year. Let's see where we are after Boxing Day.
Like the optimism however this season has just constantly been us fans pushing the deadline - in August it was "wait til September our season starts then" to now "wait til boxing day".

True, but I suppose it's the only option when the results simply aren't coming. No choice but to try and identify fixtures where we might get something, and hope for a few nice surprises elsewhere.
