After pulling us off the bottom of the league last season and this seasons results against a backdrop of injuries limited budget and the off field take over antics I think Paul qualifies for entry in our wall of fame on this site. Chris was awarded the accolade and while accepting Paul took over a ready made team he certainly has brought out a real confidence and togetherness within the squad.

I think he's done an amazing job, that's for sure. But I want Dave Bassett on this wall more than anyone else Foxy make it happen!? I think he's our best ever manager, the man's a legend in my book. Hecky may match that but if he gets sacked after three months next season (I don't for a minute think he will) then it may look a tad silly.

Surely any hall of fame is for managers who have retired or otherwise left. Any person’s legacy is best judged by looking back.

Nice sentiment, but we were 16th when he took over

He’s done very well but wall of fame status will apply if he keeps us up for a couple of seasons and establishes us as a Prem club.

Can we not use the word togetherness for at least another decade? Heard it about 400 times a week during the wilder era.

Should we have a whip-around and get Hecky a brick? my vote goes to the "Neil Warnock" panel for display.

Why not get Fallowfield a brick? Then have a poll to suggest where we could put it? ;)
Think I know where a lot of people would like to put it.
Due to NDA's and confidentiality agreements I am not at liberty to say.
The Place the brick retained list though had been sent in to the FA. It will be released publicly just before the world ends.

Unbelievable how people downplay how great "the Wilder years" were, think where we were before him and the great times we had with him.

Bassett is the best for me, simply because I was there. Wilder gave us our club back after years of wilderness. Warnock gave us great times too.

Why do we feel the need to downplay achievements of anyone (Warnock, Wilder whoever) after the great times they gave us?

Same for Hecky, he got us promoted, fucking great!! Put em all on the wall!!

Don't let Fallowfield see this thread.

Hall of fame do me a favour

Hall of done a good job to date playing turgid football

My opinion hasn’t changed good job so far I’ll judge him after 10 games

If not see if we can get dyche from Everton or Russel Martin 🫣

You’ve fucked it this season with your inane ramblings then we only went and got promoted. Worst thing that could’ve happened to you us getting promoted. You had your thread post ready on your phone notes, weeks of tweaking it to perfection, ready to post if we fell into the playoffs….”I told you so!!”….was the title…and it wasn’t to be.

Now you’re judging him after (another) 10 games 😂

Disband your account.

Please tell me why my ramblings are inane?

If you actually read what I post instead of been a sheep and saying the nastiest word you can think of straight away

I have said all season the results were outperforming the performances which I think they were and that is my opinion based on watching a season and a half of heckyball and I stand by that

A season and a half of heckyball where I don’t know what the tactics are what is the methodology or game plan other than we have got better players so if we win the scrap we should win most times

Well we won’t have better players in the Prem we will have one of the worst squads IMO so we need a manager who can tactically win games I’m not sure hecky can do that

So when I’m saying I think we should get rid of hecky it’s not cause he’s done a bad job it’s just that he isn’t good enough same as Lowe/Wes/Sharp IMO

Hecky won’t get sacked of course he wouldn’t but often the way decisions are the ones made before a decision is even been thought about , Slav was sacked the day after we beat reading and no one expected that

Again that’s all my opinion and if you don’t like what I say or disagree reply with a counter argument with points saying why im wrong instead of coming out with projectile vomit

Fallowfield asking posters not to come out with projectile vomit! Brilliant. Couldn’t make it up.

I’ve got loads of counter arguments to your drivel. I’m not posting here but I wanted you to know that most of what I see you post is inane. That’s my opinion.

So you don’t have a counter argument (like most on here )

And you’re just saying the sky is green… why because it is

The argument is there for all to see, we’ve been promoted. It wasn’t by luck.

The Championship isn’t a league where beautiful football rules the day. There’s a degree of jeopardy, there’s a degree of ugliness and it’s competitive as fuck. Wilder found an innovative defence to attack system to get through it. Hecky has tightened up our ship at the back, we leaked very few goals - in fact we were second behind Burnley (by 4 goals) in goals conceded. In the Championship that’s not a fluke. That’s worked on, it starts up front with Ndiaye and McBurnie and goes backwards. If you think Hecky had no part in us conceding only 39 goals and that wasn’t a strategy then you simply don’t know football and there’s delusion there. For me, in my opinion, that’s the biggest strength of ours this season. Hecky and the players deserve credit for that. It was very similar in Wilders champ promotion season, we conceded the least in the league that season.

Just because you don’t understand the strategy, tactics or methodology doesn’t mean there isn’t one and it’s simply “Heckyball” - you just think performances should look easy on the eye and be overt in their execution. It doesn’t always work like that. We all know we won’t be the best team next season (you state the bleeding obvious). Next season’s aim of consolidation will be down to how well we can buy with our minimal budget, defend from front to back and how we can turn defence into attack and counter teams whilst making Bramall Lane a fortress and winning as many home games as possible.
