This is a big worry for me.

An unfit:

Hamer
Souza

Seriki was cramping. Doubt he'll start again so it's rushing a terrible Clarke back or playing Choudhury there. Which means Souza starting against their best player (Charles).

Peck looks knackered again.

Campbell seemed to play longer/more involved that normal.

Robbo has played game after game and he's not getting better without the break. Burrows again is getting less rest than ideal.

BBD and JRS seem to disappear after about 65 minutes.

I'm already getting worried about the weekend.

I'm quite pleased actually, especially if Souza will be OK

Seriki and Hamer should both be fine

I'm also pleased we're going into it on the back of our respective results. We'll likely respond, Wednesday unlikely to beat us on top of 2 away wins

What’s the obsession with Sunday? We’ve struggled for fitness all year. It’s just another match and 3 points against the pigs is just the same as 3 points against anyone else in the division. The small-time mindset of some of our fanbase (including our manager) and how it’s all about beating Wednesday is why we’re going nowhere. Personally I’d be happpy to get stuffed 5-0 to Wednesday if we then win the next 4/5 on the bounce after that.

BBD covered every blade of grass tonight, he's bound to look knackered. peck was off it first half, so he conserved energy for Sunday. Hamer is fine, I think he was held back for Sunday/if we needed him second half. I hope TC went off as a precaution. JRS and Seriki just didn't gel tonight, on another night JRS scores one and makes one and is still pipped to MOTM by Femi. They were fighting to make the play offs, its not like we've been battered by Plymouth. Clarke and Gilchrist are adequate quality to play against 'that lot', I believe Gilchrist is the more likely of the two to feature. If Hamza keeps it simple and Peck gets his engine running, we should be fine.

I rake it you don't live or work in Sheffield if you're willing to put up with how insufferable they'd be?

Whereas I'd be happy to stuff the blue and white shite 5-0 and then win the next 4/5 on the bounce after that.

Bollox losing to them. Have a word with yourself.

I live and work in Sheffield and I’ve got mates and family members who support them but I dont obsess over beating them. It’s small time mentality. Tonight would have been as valuable as a win on Sunday, or do you get more points for beating your local rivals?

Obviously you’d want to win every match, not really the point though is it!

No, no more points than other games. But a huge injection of confidence and feel good factor around the club which might just make the difference. I too, don't obsess about beating them, but it would certainly make me a very happy man if we do. I've read some shite on here before ...

They still sing about Boxing Day and that was only 4:0. You're giving them another 50 years of singing with your 5:0.

Yep, it's exactly the point. We can't just bargain a defeat against Wednesday into automatically winning the next 5 after that. The results aren't interlinked. Put it another way, we have more chance of winning 5 on the bounce after the Wendy game if we have just stuffed them at Hillsborough with the confidence and feel factor it would breed. No Blade would ever say that they would be OK with losing by 5 to Wednesday.... in fact no Blade that I know would ever say they are OK with losing to Wednesday ever.

He doesn't come across as the biggest Blade out there, shall we say....

Any Blades fan, whatever the circumstances, who would "be happy to get stuffed 5-0 to Wednesday" is a bit peculiar.
I now know why you chose your forum name.😁

Ok let me put it another way. I hope we beat Wednesday on Sunday but I’d rather we had beaten Leeds and I’d rather we beat Burnley. Those games matter more this season

But your earlier post actually stated:

So do the Burnley and Leeds games matter more....or are they just the same 3 points against anyone else in the division? Make your mind up.

For what its worth, the game against Wednesday isn't just another game. It's tribal and means the world to both sets of fans. It would make my month of we beat them. If beat them by 5 (obviously not going to happen) I'd be having to get the missus to sow my tits back on after I had laughed them off. Each game is 3 points yes. But certain games matter more. Always have, always will.

I care far, far more about beating our local rivals. More than three points, more than another season in the PL. Couldn't care less if it's "small time".

Utter bollocks (again)

Sure we'll be up for it then have a 12 day gap before Coventry at home. They lost to fucking Derby today. Derby who are 3rd bottom.

Still lots of surprises to come. April is a tough month especially the Easter games.

Maybe our players had one eye on Sunday and didn't want to risk injury hence the lacklustre performance.

In the context of promotion the Leeds and Burnley unarguably matter more this season they have seen a 6 points swing away from us each time.

Bet he does 👀
pblades, I hope u r correct but Wilder said he's having a scan so that doesn't sound good, unless he's trying to pull the wool over the pigs eyes?

Any other match it would make sense to miss it and take the 3 weeks break but I hope we don't rush him back for this one and risk him missing a chunk of the last part of the season

I can’t understand this mindset. Well, I understand the cold logic of it, but not the reality. Football supporting is all about emotion, if it wasn’t, every single fan would be ecstatic about our position at the moment, but they aren’t. It definitely means a lot more to beat Wednesday, irrespective of league positions. They are just another club on the face of it, but in our reality they are despicable and need forever putting in their place. Whether it’s a hammering or an undeserved last minute winner, those 3 points are the sweetest of the season.

I seem to remember a Yorkshire teams podcast Hal from Sheff Utd way was on where the Wednesdays representative was claiming he had no interest in the derby at our place, and don’t watch it. Hal gave him some proper stick for it, because he knew he was lying. If it doesn’t mean anything to either set of fans, then there is no rivalry.

Living up to your namesake there, Crazy Blade.
A 5-0 loss to them would live on in footballing history. Absolutely no chance you take that.

Not saying it's the main reason but definitely a factor in our poor fitness and conditioning. Majority of the squad never had a full pre season here.

Last pre season game week before start of the season..

Blades:
A. Davies, Arblaster, Brewster, Hamer, O'Hare, Burrows, Ahmedhodžić, Robinson, Souza, Brooks, Seriki.

That was our starting 11 and the bench players were all under 21s/18s plus Peck.

So 12 players who've been heavily involved this season had some pre season and the other 14 didn't at all. (More than half squad)
