Big Al's interview about records. He says:

Our job is to entertain, and we don't want to be a team that sits back and worries about the opposition. We'll go and do what we want to do, and we're an attacking team, and we've got attacking players so we might as well put them in positions that they feel comfortable in. And then behind that we've got players comfortable going over the half way line. It's worked really well for us, really well.
  • I like this

I hope we have the same attitude next season. We'll probably get caught our more, but at last we're not "starting with a point"

This season reminds me of the Warnock days albeit the football is much better, if we go a goal down i have never felt nervous if anything the complete opposite that we will be ok, take the Ches Vegas away game first 20 mins battered came away 1-4 and that scoreline flattered Ches

have i been entertained??? damn right i have

it shows the mind set of Wilder and Knill, they don't want to stifle the players and worry about holding them back, play to your strengths and look where it has taken us! the are a wonderful double act that is so pleasing to watch and see how they have changed the club top to bottom, and entertained as well, happy days are back at the lane.

2nd half at Chesterfield is right up in the entertainment stakes with me.
Great entertainment this season.

Bang right Sir,i would also say all game at Charlton, yet we were denied all 3 points right at the end with a sucker blow,Swindon 1st half, they couldnt get near us,how we only scored 2 is a mystery.

I remember Alan Knill saying exactly the same things about entertainment in his very first interview after they got the job

Agreed both games.
The amount of times we have walked over teams this season like we were 2 divisions above them
Bradford being a classic example.

I have watched United for over 60 years and I have never seen them play better football than we have enjoyed this year. We may have had better individual players but I have not seen a better United playing TEAM football.

To think that I had decided to give up on them by Easter of last season but fortunately changed my mind when I heard about Chris Wilder being recruited. Thank you Chris for resurrecting Sheffield United for all of us.

The same goes for Alan Knill and our remarkable new fitness coach, who's name I am ashamed to say I don't remember. Please post his name if you know it such that he can receive the widespread praise that his contribution has made too.The difference that they have made is that after an hour our opposition has run out of steam trying to keep up with our play while our players are still fit enough to go into overdrive.

I hope it carries on next season

There's one good thing about our fans, it doesn't matter who we are playing we expect to participate and compete in the game

It won't always go right, but I think we'd all prefer to lose having played ok than do absolutely nothing and try to steal a point

I can't understand our last few managers having this approach.
It never works for us and just causes anxiety amongst everybody, players and fans alike

Spot on. I hope this helps the younger fans appreciate that this has been a special year, and that we oldies don't always hark back to the good old days. I had planned a post for Monday evening on the unity of the club this year, only to come on to the forum and find that a rather heated debate had just started!

Agreed. I've seen some crap over the years but never been so utterly ashamed as after that game at Old Trafford last year, when we didn't even attempt to string two passes together or cross the half way line all game.
