Brighton.

My past experience as a Blade was visiting the Withdean where we took nearly as many fans as home fans.

I then moved down here 12 years ago and nobody in the town supported their local club - they all supported Arsenal/Spurs/Chelsea/Liverpool/Man U.
All of a sudden, they get a new ground and suddenly find 30,000 "fans" who need the words to their songs on the scoreboard and they have flags in an umbrella stand on the concourse. More mysteriously, these fans who previously supported one of the Big 6 also support Brighton every other Saturday when Brighton are playing at home.

There are plastic clubs like Reading and MK Dons but Brighton are another level down from that.
That's a bit unfair I think. Brighton used to get pretty decent attendances at the Goldstone for a club of their historical stature. Crowds plummeted at the Withdean because it's a small athletics stadium with a capacity of a few thousand.

I do agree the place is awash with supporters of the big clubs but it's the kind of place that attracts plenty of people from London and elsewhere bringing their big team allegiances with them. In my experience a lot of locals follow the local team, I wasnt surprised to see their crowds jump up hugely when they moved into the Amex, which is one of the less soulless of all the soulless newbuilds!

Dont mind 'em to be honest, although flags in umbrella stands.....😫

Can I add to my tirade of earlier, Leicester, and Fulham they are now on the list, because their fans use those folded up clapper things instead of clapping. They sound like a school girls hockey match crowd.
Good point and on the same theme, any club with a drummer. Banging a drum constantly for 90 minutes. What a pointless, pathetic and annoying thing to do.

Apart from the obvious local

Wycombe, solely due to Ainsworth and that shit kit

Grimsby: it’s usually a chance to have a few hours pre match in Arcade and fish and chips yet certain sections of their fans seem to think it’s a English version of the film Warriors when you are walking to the ground

Man Utd, for nothing other than they are the same as Liverpool, in terms of success and plastic non local fans etc yet the media and fans in this country seem to treat them like they are greatest thing ever

Port vale, when I was younger my dad took me to vale, was walking to ground with a cake and some woman knocked into me and
knocked my cake out of my hands and carried on walking, because of her I hope they get relegated to the conference

Life's far too short to hate, i just enjoy seeing us win, draw and sometimes lose. Banter on the other hand adds to the enjoyment, giving it to Leeds or Wednesday fans is fun and taking it adds to times such as now. If we're seriously hoping to return to the 40000 crowds of the 60s 70s then it's incumbent on all of us to turn the darksiders to the beauty of the blades. I don't think it will be done by telling strangers we hate them.

Was once dumped by a girl ..Jill Ingram and ever since then I’ve truly hated Newport.
