Other teams you hate.

If this should be in the other section I apologise admin but it’s mainly based on hating them because of what they’ve done to United. Obviously Pigs and Leeds will be in 95% of people top two. So here are my personal “best of the rest”

Arsenal - can’t stand them, all down to Lee Morris going down injured and that game. Hate their arrogance as a fanbase since the early 2000’s hated all their players too. I have to admit some of the greatest players in the last 30 years have played for them and I used to admire Bergkamp/Ian Wright etc butthere’s just something else other than the whole Lee Morris situation that I hate about them I just can’t put my finger on it.

West Ham - waters gone under the bridge I’ve gone from hating them to a dislike. Hope they go down

Ipswich - that bloody Tarrico or however you spell it.

Southampton - once conceded two late injury time goals to let me down for £550 I was only 18 at the time, would’ve had a blinding night.

Notts Forest - got told they broke picket lines when I was a young kid, I was born in 1985 so wasn’t involved and don’t know every detail about it but just seem to have hated them since, saying all that big club and wouldn’t mind playing them in the top flight again soon.

Fulham - Never been to craven cottage but I just imagine all Fulham fans to be stuck up wankers plus they’ve got a statue of Michael Jackson I mean....

Barnsley - something about their fans I don’t like, strange town too. Plus once ruined my trainers walking across a field to get to the game

Mk dons - plastic club and fans

Bournemouth - once tried my luck with a Bournemouth girl and got rejected after buying her a drink. Hope they go into admin one day soon.

Liverpool, mainly for their insufferable prick plastic fanbase. Seem to be far more arrogant entitled and gobby than even the gloryhunter Man U fans.

There's something about Derby that I can't stand as well.

Fell for the prevailing anti-Scouse rhetoric in the last few years, but having shared a train journey with some proper LFC fans it reminded me that they are sound as a pound.

My past experience as a Blade was visiting the Withdean where we took nearly as many fans as home fans.

I then moved down here 12 years ago and nobody in the town supported their local club - they all supported Arsenal/Spurs/Chelsea/Liverpool/Man U.
All of a sudden, they get a new ground and suddenly find 30,000 "fans" who need the words to their songs on the scoreboard and they have flags in an umbrella stand on the concourse. More mysteriously, these fans who previously supported one of the Big 6 also support Brighton every other Saturday when Brighton are playing at home.

There are plastic clubs like Reading and MK Dons but Brighton are another level down from that.

None really. I hate the idea of certain clubs and their supporters but it’s pantomime hate. It’s like on here when everyone goes on about hating the pigs but then you read about their piggy mates and, in some cases their piggy wives. You don’t hate your mates or your wife, you just hate their club and hope they lose.
The reality is that every fan base contains a range of people, from decent to absolute scum, ours included.
That’s the long answer. Short answer - Chelsea.

Very much agree about hate being too strong a word. It implies a level of caring that I don't really have for other clubs. Yet it's also a word used quite flippantly by myself and many others.

Norwich are a perfect example. At some point this weekend it's highly likely that at some point I'll say aloud "I fucking hate Norwich", and I do dislike them greatly, but in reality I don't really care. I won't laugh or take any pleasure in it when they get relegated because I don't feel strongly enough about them to truly give a toss.

To that end I'd probably chuck in Arsenal, West Ham, Brentford, QPR, Coventry, Ipswich, MK Dons, Bolton and Port Vale.

London clubs in general. It's easier to list the ones I don't strongly dislike: Charlton, Leyton Orient. I would probably say Brentford as well in that at least (for now) it is a decent ground with a pub at each corner.

Liverpool - held a grudge since the Worthington cup semi final but find it hard to hate them these days with Klopp in charge and world class players like Van Dijk, Mane and Salah. They've got a plastic day tripper fan base but so have a lot of clubs. The self mythologizing and the 'European Nights' stuff does grate though when this so-called amazing atmosphere is a few club shop scarves and a rendition of YNWA on kick off (and maybe at full time if they win).

Coventry and Bolton - enjoyed seeing both of these sides struggle following their antics during our League One days. This does seem like a lifetime ago though.

West Ham - prefer to see them lose generally and the current goings on there certainly provide some entertainment but really struggling to care about this one now.

Barnsley - they don't like us, think we've got a rivalry, always aggro near the station, its a weird place.

Millwall - I like and dislike this lot in equal measure. A working class club with a loyal support and probably the least sanitized experience in the Football League, a marked contrast from clubs only a few miles accross London. Some real nobheads in among their support though, more bothered about goading the away support than watching their own team, always seem to be involved in racism and attacking the Barnsley end at Wembley a few years ago (occasions that are full of families etc) was pathetic.

Arsenal - Have to listen to them whine about everything and how they should be fighting for the premier league and can only finish in the top 4 every year! WANKERS!

Watford - this is more to do with the wife's cousin, she is so uncouth about everything, her shitty facebook posts this week are all about the win over Liverpool which is great but heard nothing when they were bottom of the league, she used to love saying about how shit Sheffield United were, funny nothing this year now we are were we are! so yer Watford!

Cardiff - because we had to walk so far out of our way to get to the game thanks to there bottle throwing knuckle dragging arse holes, was a horrible day and game thanks to there Neanderthal fans!

Leeds - but not for the obvious reasons, I remember talking to a member of the BBC in the globe, he knew one of my mates, so talking to him and he said oh I don't support your lot, "I am leeds fan just have better scraps here"...

I need not list the never ending reasons for hating them, everything just everything, I do not talk about football when back in Sheffield if they are of that persuasion, as I am never in Sheffield that often its not worth the hassle as you can never get any point across to them and they are big better all the other shit the spout.... nope not got the time for all that shit.

just to be a little bit more positive - a team and fans I like are Spurs, I had hospitality tickets through work for whiteheart lane when we played them in the cup under Clough, had to travel with a spurs fan, mate from work and met loads on route and they where really genuinely nice people, happy to chat about united, I am sure it would be different now as we are a threat but the chaps in the office I work in now who are spurs tent to be pretty humble and not as whiney as the Arsenal fans!

I go through disliking other teams on a rolling basis, currently really don’t like Man City, Norwich for their fans and Newcastle for their style of play

Pigs and leeds are the worst two but I dislike most of the others as well. As someone else posted, it’s more about the fans than the clubs themselves or past results.
I quite like all the London clubs as an away day in the Capital is always a good day out, apart from Wimbledon, I got thrown out there once and had to pay again to get back in.
I hold a grudge against Bolton because they beat us at The Lane in 1969/70 ish and what is there to like about somewhere called Bolton anyway?
Port Vale and Stoke, horrible place, so depressing.
Man. United with their country wide fan base, why?

My dislike of Derby has waned over the years, they always beat us at their place but have stopped doing it so much these days,
Luton Town, have you ever been to Kenilworth Road? Also they banned away fans and had a shitty plastic pitch and they change their kit colours every other year. What is their playing kit supposed to be, anyone?
Coventry, should have stayed at Highfield Road.
Any club with sixty something year old women fans with permed hair wearing a club scarf shouting “come on little Alan” or whoever their pet player is. They’re usually shit but tear us apart on their annual good performance. There are usually plenty of these at leeds.
Gillingham, the town is full of pound shops.
All Welsh teams.
Hull City, full of fans who would normally be at the rugby when they’re doing well but no one bothers when they’re shit, which is most of the time.
Burnley/Blackburn, it’s all the same place isn’t it? Horrible mill towns which were probably, let’s not bother, I was going to say ok in their day but on second thoughts I was wrong.
Blackpool, see above but on the coast.
Birmingham City, who’d want to be associated with fellow fans who can only think up a colour as a nickname for their club.
Tranmere Rovers, I hope I never go there again.
Middlesbrough, I’ve nothing to say about the town or the club that most of you don’t already know. Has anyone anywhere ever had a good day out there?

I quite like a trip to Plymouth though.

Used to hate Sheffield United, or more specifically the manager, for long spells during the reigns of everyone apart from Bassett, Kendall, Spackers, and King Chris.
Used to hate Leeds United for the team in the 70s , the fans are an unpleasant bunch and arrogant too.

So in addition to the usual suspects, I nominate Chelsea for the glee their fans had when they relegated us from the top flight the time before last (laughing and singing about it on the tube while I discreetly seethed). A long time ago now, but I can hold grudges for a long time.

Leeds fans who believe they have a " special" rivalry with Man Utd. I lived in Manchester between 1983-86 and was pally with City and Man Utd fans, pubs, work etc. Not once did I hear any mention of Leeds, it was all " effing scouse this effing scouse that". It was all Liverpool.

Dingles are obsessed with Sheffield.
