Some wednesday fans might scoff at the bouncing day massacre, saying it's not the equivalent of their own.

When they do this.. don't argue with them. Agree.

They're right it wasn't the equivalent. It was much, much worse.

Yes it was a smaller margin of victory, but to have 4 goals put past your defence at home, in the first derby for 5 years, with your most expensively assembled side ever, against a team you'd routinely taunted for being a league below for years, is utterly humiliating.

Them still crowing about their victory 38 years ago is like us still taunting them in 1979 about beating them 7-3 only 28 years previously in 1951.

It just goes to show how sad they are.

Personally, I always thought the ultimate revenge came in the form of the famous "Double Whammy" (Silence of the Owls) up there in the top league. How on earth did some of you continue to be dragged down psychologically with that 3rd Division match from 1979 when we stuffed 'em twice in the 1st Division in '91/'92 ???!!!

As stated in other threads. It is not the two goal margin, it is the whole story of the day.
1. 1st visit from a pub league team.
2. Leon taunted as their reject.
3. Goal down in 2 mins by a player we got for nothing and they claimed they'd never heard of.
4. 2 down within 14 mins to their reject.
5. The baby plays twisters with their defence.
6. Give em a sniff then a hope.
7.within 90 secs, the Scaffolder we employ as a footballer (but they could do with as a Scaffolder to shore up that shit tip) shuts the bouncing twats up with a stunning classic.
8. The reject finishes them off.
9. Only time 4 goals have been scored away from home.
10. Local owner, local manager, local captain.
11. Multi million pound team paid 10s of thousands each every week embarrassed by a 1.5 million pound team paid in total about what their highest paid player is paid.
I'm sure I've missed things but I have got the urge to watch it again. Excuse me.
Oh one more thing. If they say they're over It, check out how few of them were bouncing at 3 up against the dirties. Psychologically scarred for life. Every time they bounce they will have flashbacks.

Hi Blades,first time poster.
Not sure why no one else has raised this but i think that the"Boxing Day" song should never be sung again by any Blade.
Its now firmly in the bin.
The September song aired, at Forest on Saturday, has got to replace it.
Any thoughts?
